People say Vanraj pampered Toshu too much, and that’s why he turned into an entitled brat. True. But let’s not forget, Vanraj also mocked Anupama daily for not being educated and told her she belonged only in the kitchen. And what did Anupama do? Stayed silent. By never standing up to Vanraj or Leela, she taught Toshu that it’s totally fine to treat her like a doormat.
Then came Anupama’s “maa jaap” parenting. Endless forgiveness, endless second chances. Result? Toshu got a free licence for fraud, illegal betting, and even theft. He stole the most expensive jewellery from Anuj’s event in the US — and instead of cutting ties, what did Anupama do? She went one step further and hired this criminal son as a waiter in S & C.
And let’s not forget: When Toshu cheated on Kinjal, that should have been the end of the line. Any self-respecting mother would have disowned him right there. But Anupama? She gave him yet another chance, proving she’s incapable of drawing boundaries.
So yes, Vanraj pampered him, but Anupama enabled him. Together they created Monster Toshu. And sorry bhakts, but Anupama is a total failure as a mother.
