I don't even understand how he is mentally unstable. Anupamaa ko door door bolne se mentally unstable ho jaate hain kya... He can talk, walk, remembers stuff toh kis baat ka mentally unstable. At best he is a bhikhari, who is completely ok.

He was actually unstable since the outset. All his actions, behaviour especially the excessive Meri Anu Jaap, are not love but symptomatic of delusion
