The situation was:

Mrs.Smith was an accomplished food critic who was bestowed with the power to recommend/grant the prestigious American Star. That's a very responsible role. She found a cockroach in the food that was served to her which, by the way got ALL the media attention. Anuj requested her to NOT report the issue and give them time to run a private investigation.

Some questions have been unanswered:

1. What is Anuj's standing in this matter and why should anyone listen to him?

2. The incident occurred on a particular date which, by the way, was already viral in the media, investigation, if any, would be done at a reasonable time from the occurrence of the incident so that evidences are gathered without being tampered. If not reported on time, the reputation and credibility of the Food critic would be questioned for unreasonable bias.

3. For once, just by any trace of chance, Mrs.Smith did agree to wait from reporting the incident, there are 2 serious concerns:

a. how much time is reasonable time? In that case, what is the guarantee that evidence would not vanish or accused would Not escape inquiry which by the way, did happen, Anupama left 2 days after the incident and Anuj, who took the responsibility followed her. Anupama had not even decided (until the truth came out and she was specifically asked) if and when she would return to Amreeka. Which means this was Indeed an escape.

b. Even when the truth came out, it was Yashdeep who informed the other employees, Anupama, the co-owner, who treated ALL employees as family and whose employees were waiting without a job, did not hear from her. Hell they did not even know she was indecisive about her return. Wow.

4. What was Anupama doing to "privately investigate" the matter? What efforts did she put from her end for resolution? Surely, it was mere luck (miracles only happen to Anupama) that she overheard the truth, otherwise what was her modus operandi?

Despite ALL this, who is being questioned? The Food critic to have done her job and the caller who reminded her of her job. The food which was poisoned be damned, eh?

Also, important point, if she didn't report and the news was leaked later, there would be lots of questions asked to the critic about why she didn't report it at the time when it was her duty. Her reputation would take a hit, there will be rumours of bribery.

Doesn’t matter if it is the President of the United States, a rule is a rule and protocol is to be followed. The food critic had every right to write about it, criticize the place, etc.but had no right to cut corners (as she admitted today to Shrew). She might be a good critic, she might be a judge for that show, but the show itself is part of a TV channel, and no one barges in and carries away a trophy given like that. The TV channel would wait for the results of the investigation which could be a lengthy process and if found grossly negligent, then they would issue a statement of sorts and ask that the trophy be returned to them, they would not unceremoniously carry away the trophy like that.

I get it some people here dislike Anupama, be that as it may, that has nothing to do with proper procedures being followed. We will see how wicked and jealous Shrew convinced (bribed?) the food critic to cross ethical lines.

She is a food critic and yes, she has every right to disparage the restaurant for serving a cockroach in her food, let her write about it, complain to the powers that be using the proper methods. Her responsibility stops there.
She escalated it at the behest of jealous Shrew and that is not kosher.

I agree what Shrew did was not right. But if the makers wanted to really turn her into a proper vamp, they could have shown her as a mastermind of the entire fiasco -- right from putting cockroaches in the biryani through Rahul, joining hands with Gulati to escalating the matter through the food critic.

Overall, they flipped Shruti's character overnight and are just constructing a not-so-convincing reason to trigger Anuj-Shruti breakup.

And since it is an ITV show, they were never going to show Shruti gracefully walking out of Anuj's life. She will go, rather Anuj may leave her, but not without doing truckloads of drama!

My thoughts exactly. Shrew making the phone call had me thinking she was in cahoots with Gulati. That would have made more sense for Anuj to categorically cut her out. This wishy washy, shall she be black? Shall she be white? Or a drab shade of grey is killing her character.
And you are right, the creatives will not give the character the simple dignity of walking out on Anuj.

Isnt that against what Rajan Shahi actually thinks and projects in his shows??? None of the characters have any self-respect to be honest. This show is not having anything in real. Whatever they are showing, nothing of this sort happens in actual life. No girl in "full senses" will even think about having any relationship with a 50+ year old man who is suffering from commitment phobia and have clearly started a couple of time I love meri anu. This serial is obnoxious to the core. No one including baa bapuji have any self-respect in this show. Loser producer Rajan Shahi and loser all these actors who for money are portraying such stupidity.

Boggles the mind even the way so called Mr. Goody Two

Shoes male protagonist, Anuj Kapadia, switches from romanticizing about his ex to happily dialing his current mangethar to immediately calling his ex when fiancée cuts his call, unbelievable. You cannot have your cake and eat it too or maybe AK doesn’t realize that. As for Shrew, she truly sounded like she had a screw loose today.

Far fetched, unrealistic but we keep watching the show and we don’t even get paid for it 😉
