Do you agree with this below statements?

https://www.exchange4media.com/media-tv-news/tv-neither-dead-nor-going-to-die-anil-kumar-lahoti-132971.html

I think TV will slowly reduce

Anyone in 40s or younger will prefer netflix, OTT and youtube stuff than TV in next 10 plus years

Just like before you had desktops than laptop came same way now TV is there in another 10-20 years mobile or online content will gain audience

In india many are poor can hardly afford mobile phones so we should not see them and say TV will remain in world

In india 650 million have smart phones, i doubt out of this more than one person has 2-3 smart phones with them

In It industry you can see ppl have 2 to 3 mobiles one for family, one for office work and one for other work like giving number to banks etc So we cannot say 650 million means 65 crore use smart phone. I think only 20-30 crore use smartphones as many have 2-3 smartphones in cities. Out of 140 crore if 25 crore have smart phones its a long way to get 100 crore to have smartphones. It may happen n next 10-20 years than more ppl will watch OTT/youtube than TV

We must check how many watch TV in USA/europe/Dubai may be to know if TV is declining and mobile content is gaining prominence

I see OTt has more crime and suspense kind of content and korean romance dramas

Old ekta shows used to have 8-9 trps I think. Now for a small audience alot of channels are fighting, of course it's slowly dying.

The kinda trash itv showing it deserves to die. Good actors/pH/people associated with serials can find work in whatever industry which will replace tv

Edited to add- tv will die faster if our gen /age group 14-45 can stop watching these serials in their laptop tv mobile etc, yours truly including like girls why would you have watch something so long and boring? You have access to content worldwide.

There was a roundtable with Harshad Chopra, Shakti Arora which is relevant here.

Key points I agree with what was discussed there:

1. Like newspaper, even television will find a steady state. It will be around but may not be as actively as other platforms that emerge from time to time.

2. We are, perhaps, the last generation of audience who are active television viewers. The current generation may not have the attention span to sit through 2-3 mins of commercials. Neither does the current generation thrive on the kind of content that is being dished out. While it may not fade out, if the creators do not change the mode of operation, it will not stay relevant. Because, Digital content today, is Not limited to urban areas. Rural India is rapidly being exposed to good, growing content, digitally, so much so, that they have well running YouTube channels.

Korean dramas and turkey serials are watched all over world even in US/europe thanks to OTT and netflix

Else it would be tough to get them on TV

Now audience are exposed to serials and movies all over world

TV will be mostly 50 plus year old in future
