Who had the best character arc on the show?

The only character that got an amazing arc till now was Choti Anu aka Aadhya. Here is why:

Starting with a bubbly child, happy with little things, hopeful of a family and bright future.

Brings light Kapadia house and brightens up the family which wholeheartedly welcomes her woth her cute antics, self-reliance and maturity.

Not realising parental negligence sets in abuse, taunts at the hands of Shahs with no retaliation slowly rekindling the fear of abandonment setting in nightmares.

Abuse and negligence continues and so the frequency of summer camps to keep her at bay from them the Shah Family drama.

Sudden appearance of her birth mother, her confusion, emotional turmoil, her being challenged as a pawn, forced to leave with her birth mother despite the confession, ALL compound her emotion distress.

Seeing her mother in a vulnerable mental state, being tossed around from what she believed to be her family and eventually dealing with the loss of her birth mother, separation from her foster mother in that vulnerable state to an Udaan and then having to bear the burden of guilt of the Udaan crash landing only to be faced with Continued Negligence.

A special mention of the sequence of silent support and understanding between the father and daughter while the mother is forcing relations on her father.

Her fear compounds and transforms to verbal expressions of rebellion, jealousy and bullying. The non-realisation of the core issue and non-redressal of the issue by the parents results in others feeding them with their own versions of the truth.

The nail in the coffin was the accident and subsequent abandonment which confirmed her fears takes the form of hurt and resentment leading to panic attacks, nightmares which subside over 5 years with the help of an angel who enters their life bringing in stability.

Just when things are to find an equilibrium, the re-appearance of her foster brings back her panic attacks and nightmares and in a bid to protect herself and her father from the paint and hurt results in her resorting to avoidance and rude behaviour. The realisation that her father could never move on and acknowledging the one woman who brought her hope of a family breaking down further triggers her fears.

What a range of emotions the character has to show.

Both the actors have played it really well, especially the child artist.

Malvika for sure

She had an abusive marraige where hubby raped and hit her and left him took 10 years to get out of trauma

She was in love with vanraj and liked shahs too wanted to stay with them

Realized they are toxic after few months

cut all relations with vanraj and threw him and his family out of her company and life

and flew o US to be away from toxic anupama and anuj and shahs

Yes shes lonely now in USA but so what no one is abusing her using her treating her like filth etc

shes not compromised on her self respect like anupama and anuj or even CA

Shes economically independent working earning for herself and living alone without being abused by any man her hubby, lover or brother and sister in law

Thats true woman empowerment

First hubby took advantage and next lover took advantage for her business and money she successfully came out of both toxic relationships

Than anuj was threatening and abusing her for anupama and shahs sake so she left and lived independent alone

Thats kind of women empowerment we truly want in apatrichial conservative society like india

Not an anupama or kavya who are still licking feet of ex hubby or current hubby and fanning vanraj ego and shahs ego who are abusive to core and criminal family

Only mistake Mlavika did is she wrote 100% business and property to anuj who gave it to anupama

If Malvika had kept atleast 50% of kapadiya empire and her dad propertys anuj could not have sold it, such ungreatful adopted son

If anuj do not want that business or property give it to Malvika no. Just because anupama left him how can he sell his dad hard earned business and bungalows and just walk off. If he has no value for his dad business or bungalows, his sister would have she may have wanted her dad business and property's in her dad memory no. Who is anuj to decide unilateral to sell it off.

In india ppl keep 100-200 years old house like that only even if not used in great grandparents memory etc because their hard work gone into that and you want to return to roots and show your kids one day where you lived or born or grnadparents born

I know ppl in USA or canada have 100-200 year old houses in india and they go back once a year or few years with kids and live there few months in holidays never sell it

After retirement they live 6 months india 6 months USA in their parent/ancestral home and love to live in grandparent/parent home than in posh apartment etc because it has memories of parents or grandparents etc they respect ancestor hard work to build it

All the characters who left the show or are nowhere to be seen had the best arc. They realized their worth and ran away on time.

True that, it also means they had a defined character sketch and defined roles. Before there was any scope to butcher them.

Anupamaa's character arc from someone who everyone rooted for to becoming a shameless hypocrite and the vamp in a show with her as the titular protagonist, definitely deserves a mention.

All this while her ex husband who incessantly abused and manipulated her was made into the actual protagonist and glorified in a show that was supposed to be about Anupamaa

He was the only support system Anuj and Mukku left after their parents left . He helped Anuj to establish kapadia empire . Take care of mukku

Rakhi Dave had she managed to convince her daughter to dump Toshu despite Upma's manipulation.

Kavya if she had dumped Vanraj and turned into a polyam bisexual.

Dimpy had she filed a DV case against Upma.

Maya had she called child protection services on Anuj rather than making googly eyes at someone who followed her to another city for beti ka pyaar.

Basically every woman on this show had they left the men of their family

So, basically none based on what was shown rather than what could have been?
