I have already cleared about the term bhakt and there has been plenty of mocking for Anupamaa haters too, it works both ways.

I haven’t seen Anupama hated except on this forum. Elsewhere others are getting hated. Like for example this post https://www.reddit.com/r/IndianTellyTalk/s/nhso8aRtRR I think this show is among those few shows which has such polarizing views

One thing is common though, among different forums is that even they are also fed up with seeing her as vulnerable and bechari. The narrative of the story is also very conveniently pointing towards the accident as the trigger point of CA's hatred and her problem with Anupmaa. The accident was not Anupamaa's fault. If accident is the only problem it will in future very easily be rectified in future episodes by doing another accident where Anupama will save CA. Some of my friends say the same thing, that they hyped Anuj's 26 years ka pyaar so much and then Beti took over. I feel sad that neither people see that the problem with Anupamaa's approach in life is much deeper, nor do makers ever point out her mistakes, make her realize and rectify those. It's cyclical - Neither they show nor they see.

While I agree that the most important character is Anupamaa and she has a major role in driving TRPs (even more than the male lead ), this forum is not completely delusional in her criticism. Also, it did impact the TRPs. So even if not completely, even if it is only to a certain extent, this forum's viewpoint also resonated with the common audience. The TRPs did dip when they started throwing scenes bhar bhar ke where she was serving Shahs along with her husband and Shahs were "humanized". The contrasting behavior she showed with Shahs, who were once her abusers, and her in-laws who at times spoke the truth. These things were not appreciated by the audience in general too, not just on this forum. They even killed her child, and even then her scenes with Shahs were not appreciated. That's how much people have not forgotten who these Shahs are. Makers were so high in ego that they even tried to troll the audience by giving their criticism dialogues a negative tilt. When the TRPs didn't retrieve, they again took the help of the same criticism, gave them to Anuj, pulled the reset button, and took characters back to what they originally were.

I think the audience in general sympathises with the underdog. So when she runs to Shahs, Anuj has a sympathy vote, when she starts crying she gets the sympathy vote (minus she is not crying with or for Shahs). Besides udaan thing was always bought in this show as that was what was promised at the first place. The thing is that if the audience sympathizes with the FL they would still watch, if they don't they would just leave. Sympathy vote merely for the ML will not make them watch the show. What will be interesting to see is how long they will manage to keep the audience glued to their seats, given that they were and still are not serious about her udaan. There still are needy Shahs back at home who need her and given her approach and lack of contemplation about her actions, she can and will sacrifice her growth, her life, and her happiness for them. Then there is MaAn who may have a certain pull, but can the whole show sail just on their shoulders with absolutely no storyline? I believe for some time they will be at the top. However, if their obsession for humanizing Shahs and Vee again takes a front seat, they will face a dip again.

I have had women in my relatives/family friends circle who like anupama were treated badly without freedom by husbands or even parents home for long and abused but could never escape like anupama from a vanraj or Baaaaaaaaaa or hasmukh

And mind you none got a second chance like anupama either to remarry or financial freedom like her without any effort on anuj wealth

Also i know many woman or girls below 30 or 40 who go to work in big companies earn in lakhs(both india and USA) yet need hubby permission to use it for themselves or their parents etc in need usually even a woman working in TOP 5 or TOP 10 IT company need hubby permission to use her money the way she wants not all but 70% yes married woman need it. Also even in USA, indian woman asian woman whose married need hubby permission to send money home to parents from salary or buy property or jewelry etc

Here anupam agot all of anuj wealth and property to be used as per wish but misused it for shahs

So when i see a character like anupama misusing the one chance she got in life that 99.9% women who are like her never get i do take offence to it and will point her character mistakes

Anupama keeps talking kanhaji kanhaji but never respects God as shes abused God given opportunity and chance always

Look at Malvika highly educated in USA was she not abused by husband. So being born in USA and highly educated does not mean an indian woman never get abused by hubby in USA/UK/Europe etc

But anupama never fails to think all these things even at 50 years she immature like a 18 year old teenage girl she has no maturity or thought process to appreciate what kanhaji gave her that billions never get

Forget her using kanhaji given opportunity instead this lady herself is abusing kinjal, dimpy, malvika and not allowing them to get out of abusive relationships saying family, dead son child and justifying vanraj, toshu, baa, hasmukhs abuse

Anupama herself has become abuser to other woman in her family and kapadiya family

I have raised voice against anuj how he treated Malvika and left her with abuser vanraj and did not care of respect for his adopted parents or his sister etc

I do not think any best friend will ever do what Devika did to anupama, telling anuj all her private family issues etc for 26 long years and keeping tab on anupam afor anuj kapadiya . If i am anupama and my friend gives all my personal life and family info to my clsassmate who had crush on me i would cut all relationship with her.Anuj is a selfish person who wanted to live a happy life with Anupama. From Shanti to Priya to Anandi to Pushpa sabki life me struggles aayi hain. Everyone has fought and come up trumps on their own merit.

When Anupama stood up against Vanraj, people cheered for her. People thought that she found her ground to stand up to the atrocities meted out at her at Shah House. Although the reason for divorce was a let down, hopes were still pinned for her till she got divorced.

Post divorce, she could have broken the shackles and re-started her life on her own terms. Without Shahs, Kapadias. Valued her relations with her brother mother and brother who endured years of insults for her.

She was shown as a person who need some support or the other to fulfill Her Dreams.

She needed a Devika to find a professional identity out of the confines of her home, she needed an Anuj to bail her and her family from debts, she needed Kanta to re-start her life, she needed Malati Devi to fulfill her American dream, she needed Anuj to bail her out of the umpteen breach of commitments, she needed Devika to finally sponsor fulfill her American dream.

What is her contribution to fulfill her dreams, what are her efforts? For ALL the chances she has been generously handed over, how has she valued the chances or the people who gave her that?

Everything there on has only been a downhill trend and there are no hopes from the titular character.
