Basic doubt

Sorry if it's been asked before, but are the Shahs supposed to be a poor family? Their house is palatial and their clothes, grooming and celebrations are rich and grand. They start and end risky ventures as if they have a strong safety net. All this even though nobody seems to have a stable job. Yet somehow they breeze through clothing and feeding and educating and maintaining a big joint family with babies and old people who need medical care, etc.

But when they talk about their finances they've always painted a picture of becharapan and troubled survival as if everyone else is powerful and they are the struggling underdogs.

Is there something I'm missing? Are they poor or rich or what? 🤔🤔🤔

Now you know why Anupa is still married to the puppy and why the Shahs still keep her tied to themselves

Their eternal maid has managed to marry a majboor International business tycoon who is officially sponsoring them for whole life.
