It's so strange and perverse how pregnancy is celebrated with such joy, fanfare and tearful overacting in this serial but once the child is born it fades into the background. Look at Pari, CA and even Romil, for example. If they are of no use to the plot, they are fully forgotten about and the cast progresses in their tracks without even acknowledging the presence of the children in their lives.
The makers are consistently obsessed with reproduction, fixed ideas of a good mother/father/son/DIL, etc., hierarchies within the family and frequent sanskar-approved parties. Nothing else matters.
Plus domestic violence and sexual assault are treated as mere temporary plot points (Kaavya's horrific encounter with a stalker, anyone even remember?), only for everyone to move on to the next twist in the story with no growth or self-reflection.
All this would be par for the course in a TV serial if only the makers, actors, media and some of the audience didn't claim that it's a progressive feminist masterpiece of some sort that warrants emulation, awards and acclaim. 😡😡😡😡
No big point. I just wanted to rant. ðŸ˜
