Why Anupamaa works

Why Anupamaa works and tops the trp charts has always been a mystery to me. But I think, there is no other reason but simply sensationalizing everything. They just play on people's need for drama and sensationalism. That's the reason why:

  • Shahs and their abuse of Anupa never stops.
  • They bring in different social issues such as sexual abuse and human trafficking, not to tackle the stigma but to give sensational content.
  • Smallest of issues are needed a long winding lecture from Anupa to dramatise even the mundane things.
  • The reasonable demands are shown as something unreasonable and people are vilified overnight.
  • Anupa keeps on crying for her past (nonetheless going back to the same abusers for more abuse) instead of being happy in the present.
  • The actual victims are turned into villains.

It is useless to hope from them to tackle social issues sensibly because tackling social issues sensibly is not sensational enough. It is useless to hope from them to put a complete end to Shah drama and Anupa's abuse because being happy in your current life is not sensational enough.

Exactly, and this is the reason I have stopped discussing or writing long posts/comments on this forum. I used to get so troubled by what they showed earlier but realised there's no point and it's just a waste of time. Their intention is only TRPs and to keep the show running forever. So everyday they show more problematic things than the previous day and their lead is downright despicable. All evil characters will be hailed eventually and good ones will be turned to negative characters who ask all the right questions but are dismissed as they are negative. And the show (based on written updates) has become so boring and reptitive that trolling also doesn't seem fun anymore 😆

Exactly. I used to enjoy trolling this show. But now it's not even worth trolling. That's how bad this show has become

It works because its on the channel owned by the most powerful media house in the country, with a lot of critics and trp companies and award companies in its pockets.

I mean its common sense, the worst rated star shows still have way more TRPs than the best shows on zee or other network.

Are you sugessting only star has good shows and other channels dont? All the best rated shows are coincidently on star and other networks have zero talent?

Trps are an obsolete system and can be easily gamed and manipulated. You can pick and choose which houses have the TRP machines. You can ask biased questions or pay them to promote. There is a reason Anupama never came anywhere near topping OTT because its more transparent to measure online.

I agree with your point of view. Star does have the hold on this trp system. That's a big reason for star shows. But not the only reason, otherwise all the shows on Star would be equally big.

Bold: And no, I'm not suggesting anything. Don't put words into my mouth. I can speak for myself.

You are on point with everything you wrote as usual 👍🏼

I am ok with all this things too if they don't try to portray offscreen that their show is best and their interviews where they try to show they are not making a fool out of audiences when in fact they are.

There was a very recent interview where it was said that rajan shahi brings sensitive issues in the show which is very commendable as a social responsibility 🤡

Politics is everywhere. No matter what their intention, on the surface they have to maintain a facade of morality🤪
