Very true. Makers made a fool out of whoever expected any progress in Anupamaa's life in terms of career/profession. There is so much they could have shown if they had genuine intent but it'll mostly end up turning out to be similar to what @Naaznin wrote above.

Essentially, Anupamaa's identity is portrayed to be solely based on providing free service to shameless shahs.
