I still don't believe in Anuj is her son conspiracy theory.

But I think he reminds her of her own boyfriend/husband who must have been emotionally blackmailing her to not focus on her career. Now it has been confirmed that she does have a child so it's possible.

She sees prima facie that Vanraj is constantly pushing Anupamaa to leave and when Anuj is around Anupamaa becomes weak so she thinks all husbands are same and Anuj is actually the reason for Anupamaa not wanting to leave.

Whole episode seems like an unnecessary lecture on the (flawed) notion of being a mother.

Because whether u are a working mom or housewife, you do not make that choice out of ehsaan. These are your children, your family. You make the choice out of love and understanding of your place/contribution in the family and/or the current circumstance of your family.

Anupama ko na toh Shahs ne na hi Anuj kaha tha vapas aane ke liye. Ek toh khud apne aap decision liya and now acting as if bahut bada sacrifice kiya ho. Never seen such a pointless, useless FL in my life. I can't believe it but 90's ki Prerna/Tulsi/Parvati bhi isse jyada modern and sensible thi. They were honestly very good characters who took decisions and stuck by them.
