I think I know why they are doing this. They are using the last(?) resort to wipe off the blemish from her Mamta. Despite all their efforts and butchering of every single sane character, people still don't accept they Anupa wasn't at fault. So, they want to show that see, Anupa is so good that she's taking care of this child who is no one for her. Don't question her Mamta. You were wrong regarding her feelings for chhoti Anu. You were wrong, not Anupa. Anupa is still AnupaMaa. Both viewers and Anuj can then feel guilty for doubting Anupa's mamta🤪
