I don't know what will it take for the makers to realise that they cannot fall back on maAn for their TRPs and it has become very evident. the confession, proposal, acceptance, dance comp, global acceptance or whatever you may call it did NOT work.
It is very clear that the SH drama is the issue. Even the online TRPs suggest the same. So who are these TRP aunties they are trying to please? I'm sure our moms watch this too and i haven't heard or read any review online which has said that "oh my mom likes this SH drama" or "oh my mom likes this regressive thought process".
Again, drama is not an issue, this rinse and repeat is an issue. this negativity is an issue. the halting of her progressive and the story not moving forward is the issue.
Every good plot either has a stupid end (like the dance comp bit where they did not even end it well) or they cant carry off a social message well (eg: this week's monologue). Everything is haphazard and now it is beginning to feel like they want to give a message/show some progress and then come under pressure to put in SH toxitcity/trash's face. To me, the writer's/markers are facing the "being at 90s ka pressure that the batsmen face"
Also, it is itv so not expecting major logical scenes or plots but some sense will really help. seriously. Like we all have been saying, this is not even close to RL because who the hell goes back to their ex's house after being insulted and having their character assass? Kids want their mother, they know where to find her. the ex FIL loves her, he knows where she stays...
And I get the whole stigma on the wedding track but repeating the phrase "dadi ki shaadi" is a bit too much of a stretch. and i'm not even going to the "baddua" thing because it is just so stupid. One hand you talk about progress and breaking stereotypes and on the other hand you take 100 steps back and enter into another era of baddua/curse. Seriously? Like the random and lame accident track wasn't enough that they had to add this?? I'm not saying curses don't exist or anything but yaar it doesn't really fit the storyline only.
Moving on to this week, we have had 4 episodes (so far; not sure if we will get it full fledged tomorrow or only on Sat) without AK/MaAn content and also have IPL running, how do they except their TRPs to sustain? I won't be surprised if it goes down to 3-3.3 level next week given this lame U turn and ofcourse the MS (without even ending the dance compt/acceptance track properly). Monologue would've given them some respite but no, they had to ruin it with today's epi/running into tomorrow too most likely.
And at this point, I doubt if they are even remotely interested in fixing it cus it is still number 1 (even if FD is trolling/screaming/shouting) and bagging awards!
Ok rant over, back to looking for memes to make this day better! š
