There was no need to think or talk for a second about their dreams when your project ended and here you are celebrating relaunch of your dance academy. Oh that reminds me, wasn't Bapuji, Samar, Kinjal aware of relaunch already. Then why did you have to come running on 15th with sweets, ah, to share with Baa, Vanraj and Toshu, got it. Why should they wait till 18th on launch celebration and how can you miss hearing those words again from Baa, the gist on phone on 14th was not enough, I know, ye dil mange more.

Last thing, how can I forget the knee pain of your Baa. Poor Baa, she used to suffer so much pain when you were there. See now, she is fit as fiddle taking care of all your household chores and even giving lunch box to Kavya. Who ever thought you were superwoman, was wrong. See the shah family is running so smooth, Baa was right you were lazy and never did any work back then. Replacing you was easy breezy when it came to running the house.

Baa, is perfect example of how society is and she is doing a fab job. She is playing her role to T. But you, are you a perfect lead; or are you a masochist, suffering from Stockholm syndrome, that nothing makes sense for you. Oops, my bad I know your English, thodi beemaar rehti hai. Please ask Anuj to read and explain it to you. He might learn a thing or two himself while doing so, since he is so comfortable with your devotion for Baa.

And believe it or not , even in real life I have come across educated , so called modern women bending over backwards , ruining their lives and mental peace just to gain validation from their MILs, be it how they manage house , or look after the family , or how they raise their children etc etc ( of course not as demented as our mahaan Anupama Devi )... A friends cousin even had an MIL who took Kasam from her before marriage that she’ll give up eating non veg after wedding ( the girl was a Bengali so this was a v big sacrifice for her ) and later on ruined the marriage with her toxicity , so much that the couple were almost on brink of separation . In office conversations etc , have come across so many instances of women going to ridiculous lengths to keep MILs happy or get that “praise “ , while the hubbys are mute spectators as “meri Maa Kaise galat ho sakti hai “ 🤔...N as u said your own mother’s love comes naturally so you don’t have to work hard to prove your worth ...

I genuinely think Anu doesn’t value Anuj’s love because it came so easily to her . I really wish in the show they have some track where she suffers even 10% of what he has suffered for her . The hospital track had some scope , but there also Mr Shah had to come scooping in to make her realise her feelings as she was too dumb dumb to realise them on her own 😡

Since the writers have chosen to use allusion to contextualise Anupama's character, especially as they have chosen to do so as a single reference, they need to understand the body of work they refer to.

Your example about Kans is an excellent case in point. Your respect of the position a person occupies should go hand in hand with the person occupying the position, not in isolation of it. As his Mamaji he deserved Krishnaji's respect, but the evil in him didn't. It is so important to distinguish between the two.

Much as Anupama would like to see Yashoda in Baa, the one who nurtures and cares for her when she leaves her Devki and comes to Shah house, reality says otherwise as we have seen. How can you see love in being taunted and belittled all the time. It's not even a case of Baa caring for V more than her. It's to do with her own equation with her. How Baa immediately thinks the worst of her in every situation. She may change her mind eventually, but the initial, instinctive reaction is alway assuming the worst. The one which is usually the honest one, stripped of niceties. How does that even begin to mean care.

At one point, Anupama had said that Baa and she had become used to each other. But, that doesn't make it right or healthy. As you said, Baa represents society at its lowest point, but isn't the point to show a realisation and understanding in Anupama that she can see that and that she chooses to step away from needing the validation of such a toxic person.
