Shayari as usual beautiful and direct dil se jaise Anuj bolta hai..

I liked Anuj ne khud hi bol diya.. seedha hai sweet hai bholuram hai par bewakoof nahi

I still remember how even i used to celebrate Sankranti, will take music system on terrace, all 3 meals on terrace..and then night main will hang those kandel(candle lantern) on the kites..

Hope sometime in future, I get chance to come again and celebrate. Thanks again for these beautiful memories.

Part 3

Anupama returned a few minutes later with another steel kadhai.

"Ab isme kya hai?" he peered at it.

"Isme gud aur makai ka boora/powder hai. Isko ghee ke saath milakar gau mata ke liye laadu banane hain. Uttarayan pe gausala me daan karna aur gau mata ko chara khilana subh hota hai!"

"Janta hoon. Ma bhi kiya karti thi."

"Main keh rahi thi ki.. aapke liye jo banaya hai woh pooja ke baad khilaungi!"

"Theek hai. Toh main GK se kahunga. Woh dakshina aur laadu gaushala dekar aayenge. Phir tumne jo bhi banaya hai khila dena!"

"Pakka!" she blushed.

"Surya Bhagwan ko naivedh chadha diya, GK aur Mukku ko humare bare me bata diya aur GK gaushala bhi chale gaye! Ab main.. kachariyu kha sakta hoon?"

He pointed towards the steel tiffin that she was holding.

Anupama shook her head.

"Aapki naak kitni tej hai! Aapko surprije dena tha isiliye kal ise banate hi microwave me chhupakar rakh diya tha!"

"Ab banaya hai toh khila bhi do!"

"Bhaley!" She opened the tiffin and placed a spoon in it.

She saw disappointment flash across his face for a second or two before he masked it.

"Chammach..?"

"Ha! Ghee hai ne isme. Haath se khilate waqt gir gaya toh aapki koti/jacket kharab ho jayegi!"

"Ha.. yeh bhi sahi hai.." he sighed.

A smile appeared on his face even before finishing the first morsel.

"Achchha laga?"

"Aisa kya hai jo tum achchha nahi banati ho, Anu!?"

He ate spoon after spoon while praising her culinary skills.

"Baki cheejein bhi khani hai. Thoda kachariyu bachakar rakhiye. Sam ko mandir se aayenge tab gadi me khana."

"Okay! Sham ko toh.. haath se khilaogi na? Nahi matlab.. drive karte waqt chammach yahan wahan lag gayi toh.."

"Haju ketla bahana banavso/Aur kitne bahane banayenge!? Kal laptop pe kam kar rahe the isiliye chocolate chikki mere haath se khani thi! Jaise chikki me se chocolate tap, tap kar ke tapak rahi ho! (smiles) Ab aapko bahano ka sahara lene ki jarurat nahi hai, Anuj!"

She led him to the dining table and opened the lid of the casserole.

"Yeh dekhiye, ponkh vade.. jo main waise bhi aapko apne haath se khilane wali thi!"

"Wow! Bachpan me ma ponkh se bohot kuch banaya karti thi! Main wait kiya karta tha.. kab winter aaye aur ponkh khane ko mile!"

"Devika ne bataya tha mujhe."

"Usne tumhe.. sab bata diya? Matlab college me.. Uttarayan pe jo bhi hua tha.."

"Ha. Sab bataya! Isiliye maine yeh banaya hai.. khaas aapke liye!"

"Tumne ponkh ke cheele kyun nahi banaye?"

"Ma ni laagni ane aemni banaveli vangiyo no jodh na hoy/Ma ka sneh aur unke haath ke khane ka koi match nahi hota hai!"

She broke off a piece of the vada and fed it to him.

He held her hand and kissed her fingertips.

The colour of her cheeks turned deeper than the colour of her saree.

"It's delicious! I wish main bhi tumhe khila sakta!"

"Woh Diwali par.. jo kuch bhi hua uske bad manta/mannat rakhi thi. Jab sara khana taiyar hoga tab Kanhaji ko bhog lagakar hi main khaungi!"

"Utne sare logon ke saamne tum mere haath se khaogi!?"

"Unke saamne nahi par aap Modhera se aate waqt, gadi me khila dena! Ab aap baithiye aur santi se khaiye! Main tuver ki kachori bhi.. khilati hoon."

She sat next to him and fed him till he was satiated.

He kissed her fingertips after every morsel.

"Aap moonh dhokar aaiye. Mujhe kuch dena hai aapko!"

She went to the bedroom and returned with a gift box and an envelope.

"Pehle toh yeh lijiye, aapka sagun! Ganes Chaturthi par aapke haath ka.. khana pehli bar khaya par.. kuch diya nahi isiliye.."

She gave him the envelope containing 2100 rupees.

"You didn't have to.. "

"Main dena chahti hoon. Le lijiye, pleej.."

She was delighted when he accepted it.

"Us din mere manpasand khandvi aur patra, banane ke liye thank you!"

"My pleasure!"

"Yeh.. Aap khud hi dekh lijiye."

He opened the gift box to find a pair of watches.

"Thank you very much!"

"Yeh ghadiyan bhale hi ek jaisi ho, par main samajhti hoon ki samay ek jaisa nahi hoga! Jaisa bhi ho, achchha, bura, musqil.. main hamesa aapke saath rahungi!"

She held his hands and looked deep into his eyes.

"Aapka prem pana mera saubhagya hai! Main aaj aapse prem karti hoon aur aakhri swaas tak karti rahungi!"

He enveloped her in his arms and cherished the feeling of being loved by her.

She basked in the glow of being in love with him.

He was too overwhelmed to speak.

She wiped his tears when they broke apart.

"Anu... Tumne mujhe sirf.. ghadi nahi di, guzra hua waqt bhi lauta diya! I love you so much, meri jaan!"

He drew her closer and locked his arms around her waist.

"Thank you so much!"

"Kis liye?" she asked, pressing her cheek against his beating heart.

"Mujhse itna prabhavit hone ke liye!"

Once the Shah's and Joshis gathered at the terrace of Shah house, Pakhi decided to announce the rules of the kite flying competition.

"Ek minute ruk ne Sweetie! Mujhe.. matlab mujhe aur Anuj ko.. aap sab ko kuch batana hai.."

She glanced nervously at Anuj who gestured her to calm down.

"Tumhare hotel ka udghatan/inauguration hone wala hai kya?"

"Nahi Bhaves! Itni jaldi kahan se hoga?"

"Actually.. main aur Anu.. Hum ek doosre se.. pyaar karte hain!"

Barring a few scowls, their announcement was met with elated cheers.

Anupama was thrilled to see that her children were supportive of her relationship with Anuj.

"Yeh kab hua?!" asked a perplexed Baa from her seat.

"Baa woh.. main.. Anuj.." she fumbled.

"Kab hua us se aapko kya matlab hai, Leela ben?! Main toh bohot khus hoon ki maine na sahi, meri beti ne uske liye sahi phaisla liya!"

Baa could not say anything further.

"Aur apne jeevan saathi ke bare me humein batane ke liye aaj ka subh din chuna!"

She kissed Anupama's forehead and blessed MaAn abundantly.

Bapuji was in tears as he blessed MaAn.

"Anupama.. Tune apneaap ko dusra mauka diya yeh hi mere liye sabse khushi ki baat hai, beta! Anuj, beta tumne yeh sabit kar diya ki heere ki parakh johri ko hi hoti hai!"

Baa was forced to smile when MaAn touched her feet.

"Sukhi thao! Kanta ben, sankranti se achchhe muhurat ki suruat hoti hai. Aap kahe toh main humare panditji ko bula loon? Ek achchha sa din dekhkar inka gordhana/engagement karva dete hain!"

"Abhi nahi baa! Humein gordhana ki ya.. shaadi ki koi jaldi nahi hai!"

She was about to retort when Anuj continued.

"Kuch dino tak hum.. ek dusre ko samajhna chahte hain. Saath me samay bitana chahte hain.."

"Samay toh pehle hi ja chuka hai! Patang tab hi ud sakti hai jab woh dor se bandhi huyi ho!"

"Anuj dor nahi hai baa, jo mujhe bandh kar rakhe! Woh hawa hai, jo mujhe mukt hokar udne me saath dete hain!"

Baa was rendered speechless yet again.

"Jab hawa saath deti hai toh rangeen kagaz ka tukda bhi apneaap ko panchhi samajhne lagta hai!"

Vanraj grinned like a cheshire cat after saying that.

"Yeh baat aapse jyada achchi tarah se koi samajh hi nahi sakta, Mr Shah! Pedh pe latakti, phati hui patang bhi hawa chalne par apneaap ko panchhi hi samajh leti hai!"

"Bas havey! Tark-vitark toh chalta hi rahega! Kinju baby, tu pehle Thakurji ka baad me sabka moonh meetha karva de!"

"Ji baa. Main neeche se jalebi lekar aati hoon!"

"Congratulations Anupama and Anuj! I hope tum jab bhi sagaai karoge tab usme hum invited honge!"

Kavya gave a sugar coated smile though her eyes were seething with jealousy.

"Ha, honge ne!" Anupama replied instantly.

"Kapadia aur Josi parivar ki taraph se pehla card Ganpati bappa ke aur dusra Kanhaji ke charno me arpan hoga! Teesra Devika ko jayega, chautha ba, bapuji ko, panchva Dolly Ben ko, chhata samdhiyon ko, satva ristedaro ko, phir adosi-padosi ko, opphice ke karmachari, Jhilmil ko.. Sab ko dene ke bad jo lasht card bachega ne woh Mr Shah aur tumhe hi milega!"

Kavya's smile was promptly replaced with a grimace.

"Suniye.." Anupama turned to Anuj.

"Hmm?"

"Aap jakar Devika ko le aaiye. Uske pass gadi nahi hai. Main jab tak Kanhaji ko bhog laga deti hoon."

"Okay. Suno, tum.. neeche hi rehna. Devika ko.. lekar hi hum upar aayenge."

"Theek chhe!"

They shared a meaningful look before Anuj left.

Devika dragged Anupama away from the kitchen and towards Pakhi's bedroom.

"Kya hua Devika?" Anupama pretended to be clueless.

"Teri bahuon ke samne mujhe baat nahi karni thi. Mujhe bata, Anuj kyun itna dukhi lag raha hai? Tune ab tak use bataya nahi?"

"Nahi. Jane de ne! Sablog hain yahan aur.. tehvar k din kaam bhi jyada hota hai! Main unko alag se kahin le jaungi toh.. baa, bapuji kya sochenge?"

"Apneaap ko sabke baad rakhne ki teri aadat gayi nahi, ha?! Parivar ki wajah se apne aap ko, apne pyaar ko nazarandaz mat kar yaar! Yeh bohot galat hai, Anu!"

Anupama nodded with downcast eyes.

"Main janti hoon isiliye maine apni galti sudhar li!"

"Kya matlab?" Devika frowned in confusion.

"Khud ka dimag slow chalta hai phir mujhe tubelight aur gadha kehkar chidhati hai!"

Anuj entered the room, sporting a cheeky grin.

"Achcha beta! Humse jhoot!? Tum dono mahan atmaon ne izhar-a-mohabbat kar bhi liya aur humein nahi bataya!?"

She rewarded him with a smack on the arm.

"Yeh idea zaroor tera hoga!"

"Sorry! Tujhe pareshan karne ka itna achcha mauka mila tha! Kaise jane deta?!"

He wiggled his eyebrows.

"Chal, hatt! Aur tu madam, boyfriend kya mil gaya dost ko chhodkar us ki taraf chali gayi?!"

A coy smile appeared on her lips though she admonished Devika.

"Kai pan bole chhe/kuch bhi bol rahi hai!"

"Dekhu toh! Kitna sharma rahi hai tu! Yeh hi toh chahti thi main! Jabse Anuj India wapis aaya hai tab se Kanhaji se pray kar rahi thi! Idhar aao tum dono!"

She hugged them and smiled in relief.

"Main kitne saalon se wait kar rahi thi! Finally aaj meri mehnat safal huyi!"

"Isiliye tere liye gift laye hain hum!"

He removed a jewellery box from his pocket.

"Iski koi zaroorat nahi thi!"

"Chup kar! Phriend jab gipht dete ho ne tab use le lena chahiye, kyunki woh gipht nahi unka pyaar hota hai!"

"Okay baba! Gift degi chalega par lecture mat de!"

She was shocked to see solitaire earrings in the box.

"This is so expensive! Main nahi.."

"Shut up! This is not expensive, you are priceless!"

"Aur kya?! Tune humari gaadi ko dhakka nahi lagaya hota, toh na 26 saal pehle ki Uttarayan khaas hoti aur na aaj ki!"

They shared an emotional hug.

"Thank you Devika! School ke dino se lekar aaj tak, tere hote huye mujhe kabhi behen ki kami nahi mehsoos hui!"

"Chal, chal! Tyohar wale din mujhe rula mat!"

She turned to Anuj who was watching them with a smile.

"Ab tujhe kya bulaun main, Anuj ji ya Anuj jiju!?"

"Chal bey! Paagal ho gayi hai kya!?"

"Ha, gaadi me toh ho hi gayi thi! Tujhe pata hai Anu, yeh itni senti baatein kar raha tha ki mera toh dil hi baith gaya! Woh.. kaunsi shayari thi?"

"Umra beeti, saal beetey, ruka wahin woh yaar tha,

Ishq nahi ibadat thi woh, Meera sa woh pyaar tha!"

"Ha! Aise pyar ke bare me past tense me bolkar aur dimag kharab kar diya tune! Par ab samajh me aa raha hai ki.. tera promotion ho gaya hai, Meera se Radha tak! Congratulations!"

"Devika, ab tu chhat pe chal! Tujhe laddoo bhi khilaungi aur teri patang bhi katungi!"

"Okay toh humare yahan pe 5 teams hain - Papa aur Kavya, Toshu bhai aur bhabhi, Winter aur Nandu, Mummy aur best friend, main aur Devika aunty! Mama aur Nihal humare DJ hain! Nani scores note karengi aur baa dhyan rakhengi ki koi cheating na kare!"

"Toh yeh jo teen, cute teenagers hain.. woh kya karenge?" asked Samar.

"Patang udakar ujavni/celebrate toh har koi karta hai, man! Humlog nasta aur mithai khakar ujavni karenge!"

"Jo sabse zyada patang katega, woh jeetega! Jeetne wale couple ko bapuji ki taraf se special gift milega!"

"So.. Let's rock partner?"

"We will rok partner! Have no phear when Anu ijj here!"

She shook his hand confidently.

"Tumlog aapas me tay kar lo ki kaun patang udayega, kaun phirki pakdega, kaunsi patang udani hai vagera! 5 minute me competisan suru hoga!" Baa declared.

"Aapko pehle patang udani hai?" asked Anupama.

"Pehle tum udao! Devika ne tumhari patangbazi ki itni taareef ki hai na.. I can't wait to see it for myself!"

"Aaj aapko.. patang pe naam nahi likhna hai?" she asked in a low tone.

"Tab main bachcha tha, Anu, isiliye patang pe naam likha tha!"

"Ha.. Ab aap bade ho gaye hain isiliye rumaal pe.. naam ka aksar likhne lage hain!"

"Rumaal ke alava bhi kahin akshar likha hai!"

"Kahan?" she asked inquisitively.

"Peeth par tattoo karvaya tha saalon pehle!"

"woh.. Competisan suru.. hone wala hai. Aap jara dekh lijiye.. ki is patang ki.. kanni theek se bandhi hai ya nahi."

"Ha, ha bilkul!" he smiled.

Once the kite flew to a considerable height, Anupama glanced over her shoulder.

"Kaisi lagi meri patangbaji?"

Anuj scrunched up his nose.

"Aisi kuch khaas nahi hai! Matlab.. abhi toh kuch dekha hi nahi hai! Logon ki patang kaatogi phir pata chalega!"

"Aem? Jaise pehli patang kategi waise aap aage aa jana. Main bhi toh dekhun.."

"Achchha, matlab internal competition bhi karna hai?! Theek hai, I'm up for it!"

Soon the thread started feeling heavy.

"Anuj, painch ladi!"

She turned towards the family.

"Peeli wali kiski patang hai?"

"Kya yaar! Har bar meri patang hi sabse pehle phasti hai!" Pakhi whined.

Soon Anupama shouted "Kaipo chhe!"

"Devika, lapetulaal! Dori lapet, chaal!" Anuj teased her.

"Ja, ja! Yeh toh bachchi uda rahi thi! Main abhi patang udati hoon phir tujhe dikhati hoon! Aaja beta maidan me!"

"Oh, I'm scared!" he mocked.

Anupama quickly handed the thread to him.

"All the besht!"

"Thank you!"

Anuj beat Anupama by bringing down Samar and Toshu's kites in quick succession.

He cleared his throat rather loudly.

"Khau khau mat kijiye! Do patange kati ne? Ab mujhe udane dijiye!"

"All yours!"

Meanwhile Pakhi and Devika shouted in glee.

"Kai po chhe! Silver wali patang kiski thi?"

They waited but nobody replied.

"Toshu bhai, bhabhi.. Kahin woh patang aapki toh nahi thi na?"

"Nahi Pakhi. Humari patang toh Samar ne pehle hi kati thi. Lagta hai aap logone pados me se kisi ki patang kaat di!"

"Nahi, nahi bhabhi! Maine toh yaheen kisi ki patang kati hai! Hai na Kavya?" she grinned.

"Mujhe kyun suna rahi ho!? Maine toh sirf charkhi pakdi hai. Uda toh V raha tha!"

"You're right! Hard luck, Vanraj!" quipped Devika.

"Papa, mujhe toh believe hi nahi ho raha hai ki maine aapki patang kati!"

"Beti ki jeet me hi papa ki jeet hoti hai, beta!"

"Zyada dheel mat de... Samar! Khinch le!" Anuj yelled, thoroughly enjoying himself.

Samar who comprehended the joke winked at him while Vanraj glared at him.

"Lapetulaal.. Lapetulaal!" Anuj continued to sing unabashedly.

Anupama and Anuj won the competition.

They had a tie between the two of them in their personal competition.

"Abhinandan/Congratulations! Bohot maja aaya, bahar wale competisan me bhi aur.. yeh wale me bhi!"

"Thank you and same to you! Maza toh aana hi tha! Partnership of equals thi! Aur doosri baat, last me jo tumne Mr Shah ki patang kati uske liye toh brownie points milne chahiye tumhe!"

"Jiska dhyan dor ki painch se jyada sabdon ke painch par jata hai uski patang toh kat hi jati hai!"

"I agree!"

"Aap kitni jor se "kai po chhe" chillaye! Kavya ke haath se phirki chhoot gayi!"

"Aur tumne jo Mr Shah ko din me tare dikha diye uska kya? Matlab ek hi insaan ki do patangein kaatne ke liye next level ka talent chahiye!"

"Kuch bhi! Sweety ki patang bhi toh Tosu ne do bar kati ne!"

"Woh toh bachchi hai!"

Meanwhile bapuji approached them with their prize.

"Yeh lo beta. Yeh mere bapuji ke bapuji se unko mila tha. Aur unhone mujhse khush hokar mujhe diya tha."

He handed them an antique one rupee coin with King Edward's portrait on it.

"Kanhaji kare tumhare jeevan me khushali aur samruddhi hamesha bani rahe!"

MaAn took his blessings.

"Bapuji woh.. maine ma ko toh bata hi diya par aap mamaji ke saath the isiliye aapko batana reh gaya. Main aaj dopeher ke khane ke bad.. Anuj ke saath Modhera ja rahi hoon."

"Achchhi baat hai, beta! Tumlog sambhalkar jana. Yahan toh bachchhe waise bhi kal raat tak patang udane me hi lage rahenge! Tu kal phir aa jana!"

"ji bapuji!" she smiled.

He joined the rest of the family.

"Main.. khana lagati hoon. Aap aa jaiye.."

"Hmm. Main Mukku ko call karke aata hoon."

"Annuu.." he called her as she was about to leave.

"Hmm?"

"Ma ke ghunghroo saath le lena. Agar possible hua toh.. tumhara dance video shoot karenge wahan!"

Her eyes sparkled as she smiled.

"Maine pehle hi.. bag me bhar liye the!"

Part 4 on pg 12

Another mind blowing update. The nok jhok and whole chaat pe patang udana wala vibe was thrilling. I swear I laughed hard on some of the dialogues that you wrote both between maan and devika and also between maan and kavya. Damn I am a fan of such lines. I also liked the idea of a simple confession and then simple revelation. I am always up for both simple as well as extravagant confessions and yours was satisfying. The whole recreation of Anujs first dream had me melting because though its simple its something significant and i thouroughly loved it.

Overall a complete part with all components intact. Good job
