Why is Kavya being humiliated for not acing household chores?

Cooking and cleaning is a skill that anyone can learn overtime. I thought this show was going in a certain direction when Anupamaa scolded Paakhi for complaining that Kavya can't cook. But nope..

Kavya's capacity as a wife & DIL is being reduced to being everyone's personal assistant. She is the new person in that house. It should be Vanraj's job to make her comfortable, not the other way around.

After Anupamaa, Kavya knows the most cooking & cleaning in that house. Shah men can barely make tea. And I'm not counting Baa because the last time she cooked or cleaned was in 1920. Yet, only Kavya is being humiliated. So sexist!

I don't even know why are people (especially working women here) taking it as a personal attack on themselves that Kavya isn't being accepted into the family just because she is a woman with career, but that is far from it.

It is Kavya who actually thinks house chores are beneath herself and literally compared a maid to Anupama, as in telling Vanraj to bear with the maid like he did with Anupama for 25 years. So much for educated woman with a career.

That aside, you don't always have to do chores to gain acceptance from family or anyone in general, just being kind and supporting them is enough.

At the moment, Anupama isn't doing anything for Vanraj but the few kind words of encouragement she gave him already gave him the emotional support and strength he was so badly craving. On the other hand, Kavya always reminds Vanraj he is unemployed and puts him down and that kind of behaviour shatters your confidence.

People here are very easy to judge Anupama, saying she is interfering with Kavya and Vanraj's marriage by telling her not to be disrespectful to Vanraj like that especially in front of family.

But apart from the reasons Anupama gave, one of the main thing she did not say is it is her own experience and how Vanraj humiliated her as a spouse, she understands how it can weigh you down.

Just because someone did that to you in the past, doesn't mean you have to do it to others or just watch as others do it. Anupama sympathizes with Vanraj because she has been in that position.

Anyways, onto the working woman vs house wife thing, you do you. Every woman has right to do whatever they want, and like Kavya doesnt have to put down for not knowing House work or cooking, Anupama shouldnt be put down for single handedly managing the entire household, albeit with help of Jhilmil.

I never brought up Anu Vs Kavya or homemaker vs working woman. In fact, I'm saying with Anupamaa's growth, this show was moving in a direction where it showed that women are more than what they can provide for the man/family. That is why even after Anu started building a career, she made Pakhi understand that Kavya not being a skilled homemaker isn't something to taunt her over. At least she is self sufficient, unlike Vanraj.

Kavya is a straightup villain at this point. I don't expect anything from her. I'm talking about what the message that the show is sending out to the audience.

Lifting Anupamaa shouldn't require downgrading Kavya.

a relationship requires two people working at it. Showing love , respect and care. What Vanraj failed to show anupama, Kavya is now showing the same callousness to Vanraj. She never fails to taunt his jobless state and now decides what job Vanraj should take up.

Kavya shows an attitude to all and Hi fi bai put her in her place.

Exactly, even kinjal and anupamaa are shown working women and are shown respectful to elders. Its just the way Kavya behaves that she is not liked. Infact no one from the shah parivaar has even told her to do any household chores or do something for them. So how is she being targeted for not doing household chores by the family. And the way she literally yells at even baa and bapuji is so disrespectful. Even if you disagree with them there is a way to out your point and can be done in respectful way also. But we know she is like this only. In very earlier episode also after the engagement of kinjal and toshu, she had behaved like this with Baa and literally told her it is Vanraj's house not Baa's and she will behave the way she wants Baa cannot stop her. And that time toh she was not even his wife. She has been mannerless from the start. Suddenly everyone thinks she is shown mannerless to make anupamaa mahaan.
