Monday - habbbaaaa, mega serial ai javvu mittai mathiri izhukka innum ennallam pannuvangalo?!!!!

First two segments dedicated to that "Olagathile illatha" watch.
RR comes to biwi no 1 - sees that Manju has removed the watch.
Goes in wears the other watch ( pockets the Olagathile illatha")
and promptly leaves to see biwi no.2 . The intrusion is - Nivedha is reading a novel and Anu complains about "Puguntha veet le samikka theriyaame namba perai keduppa" (hmmm, ithu jujubi matter, un purushan kathai theriya vanthaa...Peraavathu repair aavathu !!)

Biwi No 2 - RR enters and learns that Priya is not back as yet. Priya comes - looks as if her ship sank just then - takes mommy and asks dad for the watch. Killadi RR shows the watch. Priya wonders "how did Manju get this?" Mommy shoo shoo s priya and daddy acts as if he is the only Uthaman in the whole world (habbbaaa, thangalaida sammyyyyy)

Prem's dad - doing his usual thagidu thattham - selling a land which does not belong to him to two unsuspecting aadus with the help of some fake documents maker. In between he talks about "Vaakku sutham, thozhil dharmam" etc., etc.,

EPISODE-82

Prem's father Sikkal Sivaraman over the phone, asks someone to prepare some document, says there would be no problems. Goes inside the house and his wife is unhappy with the kind of work he is doing. SS asks about Prem,the mother says that he has gone out.. SS demeans Prem's righteous ways (?) of living.. enters Prem who says that oorE is talking bad about his father who cheated a couple of fellows for the same piece of land.. one of them who got cheated is his friend's father who is going to make a police complaint. SS says he would get advance from someone else and repay this friend. He says life's principles are different from business... Prem tells him off.. says he will not help when he gets into trouble. Wife too doles out advice and is worried.

VJ1 - walking and talking about love, that it would end in marriage. Shree says so many hurdles to be crossed - first being Pallavi. They are spotted by Sundaram who decides to follow them.. Karthik is all praise for his mummy, says it was a mishap that occured between both Shree and his mummy. Shree spots Sundaram following them, warns Karthik, when Karthik turns around no one is there.. (why should Karthik turn around.. bike la rear view mirror nu reNdu irukkumE, adhula paakka koodaadhu)

Pallavi's household - Gopi calls and tells Pallavi that he is a uNmai viLambi, that Karthik is in love with some one.. Asks her to give a green signal if he is really in love..Pallavi in shock.. Gopi a sense of achievement (ennavO kaNraavi)summons Karthik.. first beats around the bush.. P's mom is in support of Karthik.. Pallavi comes to the point..says if Karthik is in love, he denies...Pallavi says the fellow who called said that if they dont accept Karthik will go ahead and get married to that girl anyways. RR arrives and the complaint is forwarded.

Episode 84-
The only non VJ meet (Aadhi and Nivedha). N accuses Aadhi of pottu kodukkaraaning to Karthi's mother which he denies of course. He then thinks of who could have ill intentions for Karthi and Shree- He thinks of Prem, but dismisses the thought. He asks Nivedha if she trusts him as marriage is based on 1000 times plantation (aayiram kaalathu payir). She trusts him eventually and her anger subsides. She wants to find out who created the problem, Aadhi promises (how?) that he will ensure Shree's love succeeds...RIGHT!

Shree meets Prem in his house. Exchanges niceties with his father. She explains to Prem she has an issue with her love affair which is only known to very few people including him. She tells him she is confused as well, as she trusts him a lot, even more than her family. Prem then brings her to the swami altar and does a camphor promise (karpooram sathyam) on his hand. Shree is touched and says she completely trusts him. Prem wonders who is the guy who pottukodutthu to Pallavi when he himself was thinking of doing it. Now he thinks there is another villian in Shree's love life...He requests to meet Karthi and Shree.


Biwi #2 with RR- Pallavi claims her husband looks very stressed nowadays..she is very concerned about it, and feels helpless. RR denies (of course, his problems are so huge anyway). RR requests Karthi to come upstairs with him to help him for a project.

Once upstairs, RR asks Karthi not to lie, and if he loves anyone...Karthi is shocked and then admits to the father he loves someone 😡

Thodarum....

I wonder why it is so shocking for Pallavi to imagine her son is in love....when her husband married twice!

Update for Friday, Aug 20, 2010:

RR asks Karthi if he is in love with anyone? Karthi is silent and does not answer, RR wants to know if the silence means the answer is Yes, he says that he had already heard about it from Sundar, and finally Karthi confirms after doing some Hmmming and Vandhu and Poi and so on. He says his goal was to marry a girl from a poor family and give her a better life, and this is what he is doing (ippadiya un kadhalai justify panradhu? Ippadiyum sila aambalaigal!) RR wants to know if she is a good girl and when he says Yes, RR says that he will arrange for the wedding to take place, but first he will have to get Pallavi to agree. Karthi tells him about Pallavi's first meeting and clash with Shree, and then the second one where Shree tried to be nice to her, but Pallavi said she was her janma virodhi and she never wanted to see her again. RR realizes this problem may be more difficult.

KM and Selvarani - she is pressing him to talk to his parents and finally he says that next week, his parents will go and meet her parents. He holds her hand and slowly, his hand moves up her arm (yuck!), and she tells him that holding her should be after they are married, neruppu patha vaikkaama irukkirudhu thaan her policy! Finally, one smart girl! She lectures him about the difference between kanjathanam and chikkanam, and he agrees to be the way she wants him to be (paisa enge irundhu vara pogiradhu?)

Prem, Karthi and Shree are at a restaurant. Prem once again talks of how he will never let down his friends, and how he considers Karthi his friend, and if they still don't believe him, he has one more palm to suttufy and prove his point, whereupon Shree tells him not to do it, as she will get very upset. The food comes, Prem is not able to eat because of his huge bandage (have you never heard of a spoon?) and - this was disgusting! - Shree feeds him! At first, karthi is not concerned, but then he happens to look at Prem, who winks at him and has a big victorious smile on his face. At that, Karthi is angry and says Shree! The woman is so silly, she asks What, and Prem pretends to be wiping his eye. She gets up to wash her hand, and Prem brags to Karthi about how she will never doubt him again, and all it cost him was 50p. worth of camphor, and how Karthi is the only guy who has watched his lover feed another guy in his presence! Sick!

Tuesday - My turn - but no turn of events? 24TH AUGUST 2010 EPISODE - 87

Thursday update (gulp)

Everyone is overly complimenting RR on his cooking skills....RR thinks of where he picked up his culinery skills (from his mother)...
Contrast with a scene in his mother's house- mummy is sick with flu and is drinking karachu vecha sadam with rasam, courtesy of a neighbour. She thinks of the past, when her son used to karachu-fy rasam with sadam for her to drink when she was ill...she thinks of his wonderful milagu rasam 😃
Her neighbour cant believe he can cook rasam well 😡 (even my dog can make rasam by the way).

Mummy tells the neighbour of her past. Her husband (RR's dad) died young, and she taught RR to cook at an early age because she wanted her son to fend for himself. She also depended on RR's milagu rasam as medicine for all her illnesses 🤢 (a hint for the medical community here).
Neighbour asks why she fought with her son. Mummy doesnt want to elaborate.

College grounds- Priya enters with her friends during lunch time. She wants to veruppethu Manju. She tells her friends she doesnt bring thayir sadam like others (implies Manju). She boasts that its food prepared by her dad. She gives a stupid grin, and feels so proud of her dad, claiming he will do anything for her, like preparing such food for her. She claims nobody in the world can have such a great dad as hers, unless they have a really good heart (as if Priya has a good heart!). Manju leaves the grounds, really upset.

Anu's house- Loosu Kamesh asks Anu for 2000 rupees. Anu refuses and shouts at him.
Manju enters, and complains about Priya to Anu. She claims Manju always nose-cuts and veruppethufies her at every opportunity. RR also listens to her, and they advise her to ignore it. Anu tells her that dad cooks well (very well), so Manju shouldnt feel bad that only Priya's dad can cook well. Manju convinces her dad to prepare lunch for her too the next day. 😕

Enter- Sundu...claims RR should be with karandi and kai given everyone wants to sample his cooking. They are both concerned that Priya and Manju will never get along in future if they find out they share the same father. (what an idiot)... 😡
Anu comes to the hall, and asks Sundu if Pallavi's husband is always disturbing Sundu (wonder why she asked that)- RR does his usual muzhuchufying act.

Mechanic Karthi tries to make contact with Selvarani. She is very angry with him, but he expresses his love for her. He also reveals he loves her deeply and cant live without her. He has changed to a responsible man after loving her (???how). Selvarani asks him to get out as he is a liar. He tries to convince her of his love but she would not hear of it. He leaves distraught, and she is too...

Update for Friday, Aug 27, 2010:

Karthi and Shree talking in the park. Karthi wants Shree to come to the temple and he plans to bring his mother there so that they can make one more attempt to impress his mother (yeah, right!). Shree is doubtful, but Karthi thinks they can succeed.

Anu's home - RR has cooked, vazhai ilai lunch on the table, no setting for son (again! - ange Karthi, inge Santhosh, avvalavu thaan change!) Manju makes a face and everyone is in suspense - no flies dancing on any of their faces! - finally, Manju gives her verdict - excellent, and everyone heaves a sigh of relief. RR is serving, and Adhi's parents walk in on this cozy drama - since the front door is always left open, in true Tamil serial tradition), and there is more teasing on whether Adhi knows to cook, and RR asks if they have one set of rules for their daughter and one for DIL, since they say they will be happy if their daughter lands a guy who can cook! Payasam is offered to Adhi's parents - verdict is Super, everyone is happy.

Phone rings at Pallavi's place, her mom answers and shouts at someone who has crossed her previously, says she can never forgive her and slams the phone down. Pallavi comes in, gives mom a lecture on forgiving and how it is necessary to be a good human being (of course, the rules change when she advises others!) and Karthi applauds her heart. He offers to go to the temple with Pallavi.

Temple - Shree is praying and looking for Karthi, makes friends with a little girl, whose mother wants to go around the pragaaram, so leaves her daughter in Shree's care (how can you leave your daughter with a total stranger like that in a temple? Most irresponsible). Karthi and Pallavi come to the temple, Shree sees Karthi, lets go of the girl's hand and starts drooling all over Karthi, while the girl goes off chasing a balloon all over the temple. Mom comes back, asks for her daughter, Shree doesn't know where she is, mom starts wailing, and of course, Pallavi the great has to intervene and give her valued advice - why did you leave your daughter with this loosu? she can talk rules, but can't take care of anything - when the girl comes back. Mom and daughter are reunited, mom apologizes to Shree and leaves, Shree has this idiotic look on her face (what is it supposed to convey? regret? apology?) and leaves.
