Juhi Parmar finally makes news for reasons other than Kumkum and Anuj Saxena. She has been roped in to anchor Star One's much talked show, Colgate Maxfresh Antakshari -The Great Challenge along with seasoned host Annu Kapur.

Though a few polished singers and actors had auditioned for this musical show, it was the vivacious Juhi who was finally zeroed in.

An ecstatic Juhi remarks, "I enjoy acting, but nothing feels better than being able to interact with a live audience…that too on a grandeur platform like Antakshari, where I get to share the stage with none other than the Annu Kapur. This will be my first ever anchoring stint and I am very thrilled. As far as music goes, my friends call me a musical encyclopedia as I know many songs, but I am brushing up my musical knowledge for the show to make sure I do a great job!". She adds, "I have always been a fan of this show right since my school days and I am very excited to be co-hosting it with Annuji."

What will be interesting to watch is the chemistry between Juhi and Annu Kapoor as the latter is known for eating up most of the screen space! We all know about the line up of female co-anchors who have left the show (the original avatar on Zee) because of this interference. So is Ms. Parmar ready to survive this great challenge?

Juhi Parmar is busy learning to sing better these days even though she admits, "I am not a bad singer." But ever since she has been asked to co-anchor Antakshari on Star with Anu Kapoor, this Hindi songs buff is getting her vocal chords in sync. Come February and she will soon be seen hosting the musical show. "I am really excited about doing Antakshari as this is my first ever stint in anchoring. When I came to know that Star wanted me to do the show I was very happy to accept the offer. I enjoy acting but nothing feels better than interacting with a live audience," says the actress.

She is also thrilled to be working with Annu Kapoor as he is being very helpful towards her. "Annuji is a veteran. For him Antakshari is his second home. But despite being a good singer with a vast knowledge of Hindi film music and songs, he is a very down-to-earth person. He is also helping me to get in sync with him. Our rehearsals are great fun and I am sure it's going to be a wonderful experience." Although everything is going well, Juhi admits that anchoring is anything but easy. "While acting you get under the skin of a character, but with anchoring you are yourself and have to constantly be on your toes. It requires a little more hard work than acting." But Juhi who is better known as her character Kumkum has no complaints because, "For the first time in my 10-year-old career I will be known by my real name," she says.

Apart from being excited with her new venture, she is also happy with the new twist in her serial. She is now seen in a new avtaar as a Haryanvi maid Santo in the serial. The actress dons this disguise in order to expose her wicked daughter-in-law's true colours. Juhi was provided with a tutor on sets so that she could get the Haryanvi dialect right. Lucky Juhi is one of those rare actors who get to be integral parts of two high-profile TV programmes at the same time.
