Some general thoughts on Anandham before I go out of town tomorrow for a week. Notwithstanding all the crap we get from Cheyar Ravi now and then, such as unimaginative sets, I do like the characterisation. Sure there are some unidimensional characters but on average most of the characters are well rounded. Take SKPD. He has his nasty side but there are also redeeming features, such as the attention he pays to the welfare of his henchmen and his affection for his mother. Then there is Abi -- scheming but redeemed by her loyalty to Jambu and her love for her siblings. RK's character mellowed from a hardnosed businessman and dictatorial patriach to a mature gentleman. Even goody two shoes Shanthi can barely contain her capacity for making snide remarks to Abi on occasion.
On a separate note, I am hoping Cheyar Ravi will cast Charu as a nymphomaniac who starts to fall for the strapping younger man, ACD ;-) That would reprise the kind of roles that I believe Sripriya and several other actresses of her generation have played in the past. And, it would leave Priya fuming.
Am looking forward to updates by Kams et al over the next week.
