I differ with most of comments posted above regarding regionalism, divisiveness etc etc. Especially the comment that "India promotes division & regionalism" by the above esteemed member. I would like to ask her, who or which country doesn't?
Just because Prakriti gets highest votes, why should it smack of regionalism? And what exactly is the meaning of regionalism?
This word is carelessly thrown around without any thought or reflection, just to make a senseless point without any valid logic or reason.TV Musical talent shows might be guilty of adopting SMS gathering tactics, but the allegation that the kids' mind get corrupted by such shows is totally baseless.
Please see it through the standpoint of those people supporting Prakriti, what would be their thinking? Here is extremely talented small town girl from a neglected & ignored region of India who makes it big on national TV and the people supporting her are being accused of regionalism & divisiveness. Isn't it a bit too unfair?
Is Prakriti that bad singer to elicit such disturbing comments on her getting top votes.
Now Anwesha no doubt the best singer so far in the show gets lets votes, why? Is it because Darjeeling(Prakriti's home town)not voting for Anwesha? Why are people from Kolkata not voting for her? Are they not interested? Are they musically handicapped? Or simply they don't care?
Gajji had indeed disgustingly played the emotional card by declaring the votes regionwise/statewise during the senior competition and we all hate & deride his actions in no uncertain terms.
I know that Anwesha & Aishwarya are outstanding singers, but at the same time I have no qualms in accepting Prakriti, Sonia or Areeb as ultimate winner of the competition.
PS:One things that bugs me most is how come the tag of "reality or reality based" got stuck with a musical talent show.
