Here is some good news for singer Shaan's fans. People who love to see him on screen as an anchor and a singer will now get to see Shaan in new role. He will be seen playing a judge in a singing contest in Manish Acharya's English film 'Loins of Punjab Presents', a movie based on reality shows.
When Manish first approached Shaan to play the judge he was reluctant. Later, actor Shabana Azmi, who is also a part of the film, convinced him to take up the role. Shaan says, "Shabanaji called me and requested me to spare two days for the film. I couldn't refuse her. Hence I signed the movie."
When asked if his character is similar to the judges in the ongoing reality shows he laughs and answers, "My character in the movie is much quieter than the real life judges." However, Shaan enjoyed his brief shooting stint.
"It was a fun experience; Singer Anushka Manchanda plays a co-judge in the movie. She used to narrate a number of interesting stories about her show 'Viva'," he says.
So, will we get to see Shaan playing a lead role in a movie someday? "I have got many offers but none of them have been interesting. I would take up acting if offered something good. But it would not be fulltime. I am a singer by profession and would always remain one first," he ends.
