What do u think?

Should people vote just on the basis of that week's performance or based on Overall

That's a good question. I think if a contestant shows one mediocre performance (not necessarily bad, but they are just not their usual self), it's not fair to judge them by only that performance. However, if they are consistently (2 weeks straight, 3-4 performances) not performing up to par or they have a record of being in the bottom four more than once, that's usually not a healthy sign for them. But again, even if a contestant is not performing well, we're still going to have the memory of when they did perform well. That's what makes us scared when our favourite ends up in the bottom four or doesn't perform well or doesn't receive accolades for their performance. Personally for me, I don't like giving contestants too many chances. It just doesn't seem fair to the other contestants. Each of the 10 contestants have the capability of doing incredibly well in this music industry but you need some 'edge' to woo the voters and win this competition. If they show something different or just an improvement in their own genre of choice each week, that's really good to see and hopefully the audience appreciates that.

I would say overall. Because a career is not made up of one song. You want a person who will be consistently good. And good at many kinds of songs.
