Girls not getting votes

I have been following all the singing competetions and have noticed India public is not voting for girls at all.....
On one hand women vote for men contestants but men don't ...so why not vote for someone who is a good singer and not because he is good looking or belongs to one's own province...If we can have a Woman Prime Minister , a
Woman President then why not a Woman as an Indian Idol, Star voice of India or SaReGaMaPa Champion?
