ASVOI - all hype no substance

It it highly disappointing that this show is turning out to be huge disaster, heading nowhere and not living upto the claims and expectations envisaged initially.

First of all what was the pressing need to slot this show in the peak season of two other popular musical reality shows already running when you have nothing new to offer in terms of uniqueness or speciality claimed earlier. They also made bogus claims of "showcasing auditions on a grand scale", "seiving millions of voices in search of true musical talent" while reports indicated that hardly some hundred people turned out at the auditions.

They haven't yet announced the prize money or rewards to be given to the eventual winner or the finalists of the show or as they claim is it only an effort in "realising the ordinary man's dream of becoming a singing sensation".......but what about the all important ROTI? May be just as Aabhas got the big dairy milk chocolate for his performance these may be the prizes for the other contestants and all in large economy pack sizes;
Priyani : Colgate toothpaste
Toshi & Irfan: Gillette shaving cream
Harshit:Pan parag
Ishmeet: Boost is the secret of my energy
Arshpreet:Sunsilk shampoo etc etc (suggestions welcomed)

The most annoying feature of this show are the judges with their cartoonish behaviour they are making a mockery of a musical show. Their constant squabbling, shouting at each other, getting carried away in giving comments on the performances, the habit of kissing, hugging and lifting is really disgusting. The producer is also concealing the facts about Alka yagnik's exit when she has reportedly vowed not to return to the show being fed up of her fellow judges' behaviour. They bungled bigtime during the selection of the bemisal barah leading to unnecessary fracas, with just the other day Govinda terming their fight as "local train tamasha".

Now that they have started asking for public votes it is very doubtful that public who are already hardcore fans of the other musical shows shift their loyalty and start spending their hard earned money on SMS and phonecalls when there is nothing "unique or special talent which is unseen and unheard"
which was the initial promise when now everything is thread bare and everybody knows who is capable of what.

The only promise which might hold good is the journey to "take us and the contestants and their families through weeks and months of tension".

Inspite of all these the one redeeming factor is the performances of the contestants itself, some of whom are extremely talented and have a bright musical future like Aabhas, Abhilasha, Mirande, Irfan etc etc and last but not the least gentleman personified, true professional, the supercool SHAAN and hope that our worst fears (Star plus may dump the show it doesn't generate income for it) won't become reality. One scary scenario which in all probability might spell the ultimate doom for the show is good singers getting eliminated due to public voting at the initial stages itself.

Lastly they urgently need to do something about the clothes of the contestants who are looking like clowns and jokers in a circus. Hope somebody listens.

Yea i totally agree with you. I think here the most imporant thing is beheviour of Judges. Their show very weird beheviour. Its obvious that one judge will like the performance and other not. They can argue on that in a good manner too what is need of fighting and shouting????
They are giving Priyani more points then what she deserves and that too just for her LOOKS and their so called ego???(i think)IS IT FAIR???
Without Alka show is not the same. I m missing her badly. And this new format of calling a person on show is irritating. This show is beacoming like a funny show more than a singing contest.
They really need to put some sense in. And they should also announce the prize of the winner. This will encourage the contestants to work even harder.

ya the director himself dunno wht the format is and some contestanst sing in duets some in solo's all confusing how can we know who is the best of all ? and who shd be eliminated how can we knwo ?

they dont even have an special rounds like romantic songs round,folk songs round like tht "jo chahe woh gao viewers bhakre hain an jho bnhi dikhao dekh lenge"

and this show is wantedly made in depseration in competion wth competion to other two rival shows in tht the director forgot to have an format and an prize money and all

though the singers are gud if the format is not who will wacth ur show ? tht too in competion wth already leading the nation shows like indian idol and saregamapa ?


i like sumitra,mirande becoz they perform + sing thts why i like them but the stupid format the colour of the channel these all look so bad and made me to change the channel

and calling tht ani kapoor to sing i dunno why the judges gave gud comments he was nmothing gr8 even an ameteur can sing like tht .

and this gajendra singh is just an fully aired baloon just hype nothing more though if u have an talent and wthout an nice format the show will *** big times ***********

and one more thing the judges r fighting like an local train beggars and going on to stage kissing.hugging the contestansts and lifting them up its some wht cheap looking i think this is all scripted thius gajendra singh *** big times

i heard some news tht in antakshari he offed buzzres and made sowmya win on the bestset talented neeti munshi how cheap he is even the contestansts them selves said tht they dunno this until the finale was over how cheap he is

hope this shd not be case wth my fav mirande and sumitra they rule the show if they will be out the show *** big timessssssss

i will try to not to compare both the shows becoz i understand ur feelings yaar becoz even i felt the same when some one criticized indian idol by comparing it wth star voice sorry moderators

i thought the eventual winer is to get a playback singing contract or sumthings...
if no prize has been decided then y they keep stressing that they r looking for playback singing voice....
