On being a family man
A father to his two kids – Soham and Shubh - and a loving husband to his wife, Radhika, Shaan is a self confessed family man. "I have a wonderful family. I would be absolutely foolish if I wasn't a family guy. My wife is very modern but at the same time she has very sound values. My mom lives with us too."
"I think its very important to be surrounded by the right kind of people who love you and care for you because of who you are as a person and not who you are in terms of your persona and image. It helps you remain grounded and focussed on yourself as a person rather than the image that is created about you," adds Shaan.
On maintaining a marriage in Bollywood
I don't know if we should narrow it down to Bollywood. Even in life in general today we are going out a lot more… meeting a lot more people. If your communication and chemistry is not there then at some point it is bound to happen. It is important that you love someone and you continue to do so not out of duty or responsibility but because you actually feel it. You have to keep that chemistry alive…we always say its not essential to keep saying that I love you but I think sometimes its essential to show it. It's nice to work out little things from time to time to keep that romance alive.
On his days off
I love being at home with my family. I love my two sons and get immense joy being at home with them. In fact even on a day to day basis I manage my day in such a manner that I get enough time with my family. We don't have any fixed things that we do… we go out for meals, spend time watching movies together. My mum sings really well too so sometimes we all sit together at home and sing!
