This analysis assumes that the points given to singers across the four groups were given on the same basis and in the same way. Instead what we saw was consistent grade inflation. The scores kept going up although the singing remained at about the same average level. Therefore, listing scores this was is misleading.

The format is flawed, no doubt, and this gradual grade inflation is one of the flaws.

Even on the basis of scores so far first 11 select themselves.Now they cant do anything about the deserving who lost.If they are going to have only 12 Arvind should go.Means Sumitra is IN.That would balance the male/femaale ratio,thogh I would prefer Ira to Sumitra.But helpless about it now.

very good observation 😛 .....i agree with all,the format is not good............ before selecting final 12 we (the audience)cud have heard them for at least 2-3 times.......they stretched the auditions for 6 weeks 😕 (if i'm not wrong)they cud have given more chances to these contestants before selecting bemisaal 12.............i think there shud be one wild card round on friday,n i want sanchari,saptaparna,arindam n one more calcutta girl from groupA,i dont remember her name 😕 ,chaitanya n sriram in the wildcard round n select 2-3 contestants from these........n on sat.again give chance to all selected ones n then select the final 12 from all these contestants ..........jab auditions ko itna time de diya to fianl 12 ke selection me itn jaldbaazi kyo??????? sachhe suro ki talaash me n suro se samjhauta nahi karna hai to yeh to aaplogoko karna hi chahiye .........plz plz Star plus n Gaj ji plz give one more chance to the deserved contestants 😊 plz bring them back 😛

I really really liked Arindum's performance...he should have been in!! Why would Akla give him 6?? He deserved an 8 at least!! I really felt bad for him!!

Good analysis.. but as corerctly pointed out, we have seen an increasing trend in grades as the show as progressed... the reason behind it, no one knows! So, it may not be fair to have the consolidated grades and compare...

Actually this whole idea of grouping the contestants in not right and again grading them before listening to all is neither! Indian Idol has probably the best format that way where all the singers are made to compete with each other in the Piano round... They should have gone with a similar format here too...

Sanchari and Saptaparna got eliminated without even getting a chance to sing a 2nd song.... Sayantani was shown the door because her 'ho' did not have the right feel, and Arindam was asked to after 2 superb performances! This is indeed sad... we have lost some genuine talent here to make way for some weaker talent in the form of Aravind, Priyani and even Irfan! Sumitra also seems mediocre in the extremely talented group, and Toshi has an attitude problem!

until the last weekend i was not really convinced that the judges have started giving higher scores for the subsequent groups ... grp 2 and 3 were very good ... but after that disaster weekend with ok ok performances where the better singers were shown the door, i am convinced ... they have been giving higher points ... if grp A was to compete again am sure sumitra wud've also scored 90 going by the 10 given to toshi ... ishmeet and arvind wud be close behind ...

u really cant help but feel that all this has been doctored ...

if abhilasha and harshid, abhaas were in the group 1, they could v scored the same scores bcoz they are genuine signers and they dont have bad day usually. one who is impressive always impresses at any day.. so the points average of group started to increase bcoz the singing standerd also started to increase. that's why even scoring 80, arindam is out, n after scoring 73, arvind is in.. coz he's better amongst the weakest,...that's wut happen everywhere in life..

jus n example :

when u have very few talented students with you, you can stand first in the X-am evn scoring 80..... while if u have very talented students competing with u, u can end up being the last evn after scoring 80...

Good Analysis.. But in the first week, not much points were given by the judges and gradually towards the end, they rated the contestants high.. Otherwise Hashprit who is in Group D wouldnt be on top with 91 points.. Abhilasha deserved those points.. I guess Ishmeet has had the lowest score then and should be eliminated.. But if that happens, it will again be a loss of talents..

I disagree with some ppl here. The pts should have been absolute and not relative to each other in that group.

If initially they gave 7s for great singing and 10s for later shows, thats wrong. They should have had pts for sur/tal, voice quality, high pitch singing, low pitch singing and then give pts totally based on that one song, and not anything else.

Any way this can be fwded to SVOI ?

If I am not mistaken, Ishmeet and Sumitra got a six for their last performance. In the last episode, the contestants who got a six where eliminated (with the exception of Toshi who got a six from Alka on Friday). The scoring hasn't been consistent from week to week. The first week the judges were more strict. I think they even gave five to someone but I don't recall anyone getting such a low score in last three weeks. Even Ryan managed to decent scores the second week. I think he got an 8 from Aadesh.
