Alka Yagnik walked as a judge when Aadesh objected to her being referred to as €˜Melody Queen€™

IT ALL started on the
sets of a talent hunt contest when producerdirector Gajendra Singh referred to Alka Yagnik as €˜Melody Queen€™ and Aadesh Shrivastava objected to him referring to Alka by that name. Alka and co-judge Aadesh have been crossing swords for some time but this was the last straw. She did not take this remark well and apparently stomped out of the show in a huff. He admitted to making these remarks, €œAs far as I€™m concerned there€™s only one Melody Queen, and that€™s Lataji. No other singer has the right to be called a Melody Queen.€ Junking Aadesh€™s reaction, Gajendra says, €œAlkaji is upset because of this incident. Very frankly I think addressing her as €˜Melody Queen€™ is fair. If I can call Aadeshji the €˜Nayaab Naghmon Ka Nawab€™ on the show, why can€™t I call her that?€ However, when we sought clarification on the issue Alka reacted, €œThere€™s nothing wrong with me being called a Melody Queen because a Melody Queen is mortal! But Latadidi is immortal. I€™m her biggest bhakt, and she knows it. And what€™s Aadesh€™s problem?€ But Alka said that her decision to quit the show had nothing to with the above issue. €œI€™ve decided to quit because I felt there was a lot of misbehaviour. I feel the judges will lose the public€™s respect and I would never do anything at the cost of my dignity.€ However, Gajendra adds, €œShe€™s under contract knows that she can€™t walk away so suddenly!€
