Chapter 12
Felling sad and lost she left for airport. She straight went to Command room hoping to find him there. She met Captain Arjun on the way as he was flying with her to Goa and then back...the same afternoon.
He smiled and wished her congrats.. for getting engaged and also wished her for her birthday.
She just looked at him without any expressions and her eyes were only asking about him. He felt very bad seeing her in this state.
Everyone else who came in wished her. This was the worst day of her life. She never thought her birthday would bring so much sadness in her life. She was missing him..
She got herself a cup of tea to relax her mind and her heart was still hoping that once he is there, he will definitely stop all this and declare everyone that they love each other !
But how wrong she was !
Then he came...He was deeply hurt !! by her. He was informed of this shocking update by Arjun in the morning when he came back from the Secret Room. His phone was switched off during his stay in the secret room and somehow it did not record all the missed calls made by her in his absence.
When Arjun informed him, he was unable to understand why the hell she agreed to marry Mafatlal.
And then he thought maybe he was wrong to assume that she loves him too .She just considered him as a friend.
At the same time, he thought its better as he has never had anyone so close to his life. He was almost shattered. One side he was so close to meet his mission objectives and on the other side, he was moving away from the only person who could enter his heart so deeply. He had dreamt of spending his whole life with her.
But one thing for sure he knew, Even if she does not loves him, he will never ever let her marry Mafatlal as he knew how bad person he was.. He had promised himself to expose him infront of her as early as possible.
He was flying to Bangalore today evening and would be coming back after one day. This was intentionally planned by Mafatlal...So that he cannot attend their engagement party.
He had come to pick up his weekly flying rooster. He was now cursing himself why he came at this time! He never wanted to do this to her on her Birthday!
He saw her in the caf' staring at him. He wanted to run and hug her , wish her, cuddle her and ask her why did u not trust me Ananya, but he was so angry that he completely ignored her.
It was a complete misunderstanding between two people who for longing for each other's love!
All this while he had been thinking that she too liked him. Lest he knew he was at fault as they had never confessed... their love for each other.
Being in love is blissful but admitting to each other is even more blissful feeling !
She saw him ignoring her and felt very bad. She thought that he never loved her at the first place. Still she mustered courage and came near him and
said " Hi Captain Saluja" in slight teary tone..
His breathing rate increased as he looked at her and his heart thudded crazily against his chest. He still managed to look at her without any change in his expression and said in a sarcastic tone " GM First Officer and Congratulations for your engagement tonight with CEO of Inde Airlines!!" and then he excused himself silently.
There was an awkward silence prevailed in the room with lot of tension around.
She held his hand instantly and almost choked while asking an unexpected question "Are you Happy Akash?"
When he didn't react for a few minutes, she wondered whether he had heard her words.
He looked into her wide eyes staring straight into his !! However, gathering himself back, he let go off her hand and said " Yes as much as you are Ananya " and went out from the room.
Ananya was completely shattered hearing this. He had left her and was going away. This was becoming the worst day of her life and she never wanted to celebrate or remember this.
Her eyes moistened with all the emotions she was undergoing.
Feeling dejected, she picked up her bag and left to onboard her plane. She quietly initiated the take off activities with Arjun in the cockpit.
Arjun knew they love each other and he had to do something..
On the other side, Akash's team had started making their next moves! They had already planted people inside Inde Airlines as Ground Staff, Housekeeping and security folks. They had also hacked the telephone details and everything was taking place as per plan to trap Mr Mafatlal and his team for the biggest drug deal.
Akash retired backed to his house lost in her thoughts ! her pale face and red eyes were infront of him .. He could not concentrate on anything. He had to stop the engagement somehow... and confront her.. why she is doing this ? He had not even wished her on her birthday and he was feeling so bad for doing this to the lady he loved the most..!
But how ? He could not make any mistake now! He was already warned by his seniors to stay away from her.
Evening Time : 7:00pm
Mafatal was at the venue waiting for her to come!. The entire place was buzzling with lots of people around.
Ananya came dressed in a purple gown adorned with silver jewels. She was looking heavenly and extremely beautiful. With minimal make up also she was looking so pretty.
But somehow her slightly swollen worn out eyes did not go unnoticed by her Nanaji.
He held her hand and asked her " Ananya is everything ok. You can tell me beta if you are not happy with this decision"
She blamed it on her work pressure the reason for her tiredness.
"No I am fine Nanaji, It's just that I have been through a very hectic day today."
But her Nanaji was not convinced and he sensed that there is definitely something wrong!
Mafatal was stunned seeing her. He held her hand and took her to the dias and his dad introduced them to everyone.
All the while Ananya eyes were down with a faint smile on her face.
They decided to cut the birthday cake first. She below the candles and immediately Mafatal offered
her the first piece with his hands.
She somehow managed to gulp it down in her already dried throat. She could have cried any moment...
She was dreaming about their moments in Leh standing near the corner of the dias and her reverie was broken when Mafatal came and held her in a half hug and took her to the dance floor..
Her face turned even pale and she was praying for the dance to get over fast and she was just answering him in monosyllables. She was highly suffocated in the over crowded ambience.
Then his Dad came and announced , " Welcome everyone, Let's begin the engagement ceremony.."
All of sudden Mafatlal got a phone call and then...
They say na ---- Just when you're ready to give up, love finds a way to give you hope.
