rekha's age and looks

she looks so young to be getting married.
how old would you say she is? to me she looks around 12 but most likely around 15 i think.
notice her ears...they remind me of dumbo the elephant's ears or prince charles's ears. they are big and stick out.
rekha looks like she has grown from last years and the other kids as well.

Its the village! people in villages get their daughters married off soon, as soon as they reach their their child bearing age. its a very common thing to do in villages..since they are poor they can't always afford to feed everything.. one less person in their household, is better for the other fam. members. in a way, they find a future for the girl to live on, and then get her married off.

Well said. It is a village and sometimes children younger then her married off too.

As far as her ears go then they say people with big ears are lucky - and Rekha is lucky to have a supportive family like Nanku and Majri.

yeah she should a girl arond 12-14 not more because in ghar ki lakshmi betiyaan she was a kid so can't say more than that.yes also i make the remark she got big ears.

about the marriage, they are doing the gauna only now, which is like an engagement. She will still stay with her parents and when she grows up she will leave with her husband.
but lallan for sure is too big for her

Lallan looks like he is old enough to be her father or an older uncle. she looks like a baby next to him. too much age difference it seems, but at least lallan seems like a nice guy. it is so sad she has to get married so young. what happened to having fun as a child... 😭 😭

Yes I know in the villages people marry girls off very early because it is hard for them to look after girls with so many people around so they have to get rid of someone in the family. Girls are not really valued for their mind, only for their housecleaning, baby having, and taking care of the family skills. their world is limited and isolated ....so sad. I guess sometimes marrying the girl could give her a better future in another family. 😭 😭
