And I think the reasons are that he likes that Laali has changed Shekhar for good, and is a strong girl. Also, he dislikes Sideshwari's father, and hence Sideshwari as well.

I think AS (dadaji) does not dislike Sid, but he knows one thing that Sid is good for nothing & incapable of handling Shekhar & his problems, where on the other hand Laali had left no stone unturned in looking after Shekhar without caring for her own life so dadaji has a liking for her.

finally there is another person who is with laali and shekhar...coz we all know that shekhar mother cares for laali and supprts her all the time....nd glad to see grandpa now supporting them....
