Balaji's to produce first daily on Colors
It was only a matter of time before Balaji Telefilms spread its wings on Colors. Perhaps, the success of its horror show Koi aane ko hai has led to Colors embracing the nation's top production house some more. Balaji Telefilms is all set to produce its first daily on Colors. It must also be recollected that Balaji is also producing a weekly sitcom for the same channel. However, it's the daily that will go on floors first.
A reliable source informs, "Balaji is producing its first prime time daily for Colors. The show is tentatively titled Bade acche lagte hai. Sandip Sikcand is the creative director for the show. It's a romantic comedy based in a rural area. The makers are looking for a simple Laali like (Agle janam mohe bitiya hi kijo) character for the show. The casting for the show is currently on. Earlier, it was buzzed that the show will launch on 25 August but it might be delayed for a few weeks. Earlier, the show was to be based around a Punjabi family but now they are looking at a Marwari or a Gujarati family."
When contacted Sandip Sikcand said, "Sorry, I really don't know."
Ekta Kapoor did not respond to our text message.
In all likelihood, this show will replace DJ's Mere ghar aayi ek nanhi pari.
