We who are able to come on India-forums and discuss the show are blessed ones for the opportunities, wise parenting and above all good education and moderate to good financial status. We can watch, read , discuss and analyse the show and the characters from various angles. But the areas and cultures where this really happens, people are either lacking money or education or both. I have realised that women are more stubborn and opposed to the change as the fear of wrong doing has been so created in to theior minds since childhood. It would be really good for the channels to make sure that this show is telecast there and people made to realize that women can do more in life than being the doormats and at the mercy of these butchers. If only, Lali had the opportunity to get educated and looked forward to go to the college than waiting to be tied and hauled like a goat to Ganesiya's home. If only there are sincere NGO's who can get the donations from the fortunate ones and give so many Lalis' an average life of a human being. I hope they also bring a chang in story by showing Lali courageous to fight and realize that as a human she can do much more than sleeping with a man and fasting for a man ( no offence to anyone's sentiments)

Very well written and a very valid point. We have everything that allows us to be aware of social issues but where this is happening there is no support and awareness. I think the channels should make more of an effort to reach every part of the corner and more awareness groups should also help these women over come such problems.
I feel there is already help but seeking it is the main problem. If the help is more readily available then maybe more people like Laali can look forward to a better future.

Very nice post.
Yes I really do hope that Laali fights for her rights, and get's what she deserves. Well she can't go to college or study now. But she can still stand up for her rights, and so far i'm happy with her.

Yes I really do hope there is a change in the minds of women especially in the rural areas. And the media needs to make sure that they get the right message there. And there was a NGO who raised funds to heplp other in situation like Laali's. There were ads and articles about it, few weeks ago. So i'm glad the message is getting around.
