Agent Raghav- Episode 10- Review

CASE SUMMARY-

Raghav goes undercover as a prisoner to gauge who killed a fake godman. The jailer himself and six of the convicts are suspects.

ASPECTS OF THE EPISODE-

It was a satisfactory episode overall.

They introduced all the potential suspects and made it thrilling enough, because we didn't know till the end who the murderer was.

The setting was unusual- the atmosphere of a jail.

There wasn't an investigation per se that was portrayed. Raghav is the one who tries to interact with the convicts and find out who killed the godman.

In the process, he meets a criminal who he helped put in jail, who recognizes him and plans an attack on him.

The other team members weren't involved that much, which we can overlook given the nature of the case.

Sharad was awesome in portraying the undercover cop.😊 And that fight scene was awesome. Nice to see Raghav displaying his prowess.

---

NIGGLES

As for the niggles- I don't see why Raghav had to be so blatant in his interrogation and immediately question everybody about the murder. It'd have blown his cover. I am also not sure whether there is so much freedom for prisoners apart from eating time and when they work. Also, one of the prisoners is thrown from the top, and afterwards, the man who did it is not exactly punished for it.😕

---

RAGHAV'S PAST-

The most significant aspect of the episode was the revelation about the past, more specifically, Raghav's past. The episode began with Raghav's nightmare about a murder he had witnessed as a child, and a joker-mask clad man who confronts him. More worryingly, we realize that the man tells the child Raghav he wants "Raghu" for some purpose specifically. 😲

In the jail, Raghav meets a prisoner called Manglu who repeats the same thing that the masked man had told him as a child, about how one must not worry about the means but the destination. Raghav immediately pounces on him to learn where he had heard this statement. But sadly, the man is thrown off the balcony in an unrelated fight with a fellow prisoner before revealing the same to Raghav.

At the end, Manglu before dying makes a star on a piece of paper, giving Raghav his first clue about the masked man. Raghav ponders that this is the first breakthrough for him in the biggest case of his life.

I absolutely loved this part more than the actual case because it shows a potential story arc for the protagonist. It stirs things up and makes it more interesting. That he is in pursuit of a dreadful killer connected with his childhood trauma, who seems to have a personal connection with him, makes it all the more engaging.⭐️ Even Holmes had to battle his nemesis Prof.Moriarty, and Jane from The Mentalist, Red John. In the same way, the masked man is the nemesis for Raghav.😃

I'd love to see how in the course of the series Raghav pursues this guy, how he investigates, and what he loses in this pursuit. More specifically, whether he compromises on his personal convictions and his professional life, including his dynamic with the team, to achieve this end.

---

RATING-

6.5 /10 for the actual case, and 10/10 for the revelations about the past. 😳

You always give so wonderful reviews there is nothing more to speak .
Today's episode was simple yet interesting , I liked how Trisha and others coordinated with Raghav .
Raghav's past was perfectly portrayed and liked how Raghav became excited on getting the first clue for his life's mystery .
Good case , but it could have been better at some points i feel the direction goes flat .

^ Thanks!

Very true- it's like, they lose the tempo midway with regard to the direction.

It was nice to see Trisha coordinating from outside, as you said.

It appears that Saturday episodes are always better than the Sunday episodes. Now I have another show to look forward to instead: Quantico. Anyways onto today's episode.

Positives:

  1. Raghav's past - Yes! We finally get some more insight into Raghav's past! I love how they started with that and then brought up in the middle with Manglu as well. If done well the CVs have the potential to really do something big with this past. And a strong nemesis can really make or break the story at this point. It's the first time I'm watching a &TV show so I really hope that &TV is not like other channels who will abruptly end a weekend show because it's doing well in TRPs. That's killer for these types of stories. Star Plus is notorious for it and even more notorious is the haphazard way the CVs of those shows bring everything to a close. (Those who've watched Airlines, Gulmohar Grand, and Private Investigator know what I'm talking about.) Anyways my basic point is that I hope this channel isn't like those other channels.
  2. Haw? They went to Karnal?!! Finally they are on a role of staying close to Delhi! For those who may not know Karnal is about a 3 hour drive from Delhi. Don't ask me how I know that.
  3. The suspense at the beginning. It was done just right. You had your ideas of who the culprit could be, but I was glad that it wasn't so obvious this time mainly because they had a couple of actors who usually play criminal or negative roles in this episode. 😆
  4. Bikram, Rajbir, and Trisha's concern for Raghav. Well-placed.
  5. Raghav's disguise. It was nice, but I wish that he had taken on a persona of Kartar Singh as well, not just the name. Then it wouldn't have been so easy to catch him.
  6. Trisha and the jailor's convo. Chalo at least somewhere there was some investigation and some mention of the other CBI officers.
  7. Finding the poison. That was very innovative. Even the way it was placed was quite innovative. Again not so easily solved.
  8. Raghav's game. That was hilarious. "Ruko, ruko, ruko. Dhansu tum mujhse mil liye tumhari saari ichayen puri ho gayi." 😆 That was the dialogue of the day.

Negatives:

  1. A very long intro. Pet peeve # 2. I hate any intros that last over 5 minutes. The only reason I stuck this episode out is because of your review on his past.
  2. Raghav being recognized within seconds of entering. Excuse me but this is not a good disguise if the criminals you put in jail can still recognize you.
  3. Raghav should have waited a while before starting his questioning and suspicions. Maybe a day or two at least.
  4. Are prisoners really so open with a newbie? That seemed a bit unbelievable.
  5. Raghav's fight sequence. Was it really needed? And somewhere this reminded me of an episode from Adaalat where KD went into jail to have 2 criminals attack him in a similar way.
  6. No real investigation done outside.
  7. No screen time to the other officers, except Trisha.
  8. Manglu being thrown from the top. Why wasn't anything shown about why he was pushed? That's it. He was pushed so case over?
  9. The motive. Umm I would have liked some investigation into how this motive was found. I just didn't believe it because it was just forced in suddenly.

Overall I'm not pleased. Like I said above it appears as if Saturday's episodes are always better than Sunday. This episode did well for me because of the insights into Raghav's past, else it was ainvayi. From me a 2 out of 5.

Dear Amri and Sherya
good review aap dono ne hi sab kuch keh dia hamare pass to kehne k liye kuch bacha hi nhi

anyway...review to hum fir bhi likhenge...😆😆😆

Episode satisfactory hai...zyda achcha bhi nhi tha aur itna bura bhi nhi tha ... Episode ki starting zabardast lagi mujhe...Raghav k nightmare...

Case ka CBI me ana aur Trisha ka team ko case describe krna...20% logo ko to karnal jail me raghav ne hi bhijwaya hai ...It's good to see trisha ne raghav k liye faltu ki concern nhi dikhai aur direct uske jail pahuchane ka intzam krne ki hami bhari...it show k use raghav pr aur team pr yakin hai k raghav sambhal lega...and in the end of this meeting trisha's dialogue I loved it... "Main batana bhul gyi k jailor bhi main suspect me se ek hai"

Raghav pr look to jach rha tha...but still raghav ko pehchan na itna bhi muskil nhi ho rha tha...and raghav ki boli sardaro wali nhi lag rhi thi... raghav try kr rha tha but uss se utna achcha nhi ho rha tha

I agreed with both of you raghav kaise directly sabse investigate kr skta hai...jabki wo janta hai k agar pehchana gya to uske liye kafi problems ho skti hai...Mujhe lgta hai raghav ko kuch iss type ka karke dikhate to behtar rehta k raghav as kartar singh kehta k achcha hota kisi aur jail me dalte yahaan to khane me zehar hota hai...aur apne jail mate se kehte k pta nhi wo zinda bachega ya nhi 6 mahine ki saza huyi hai use...jab godman ko yahan mar skte hai to koi yahan safe nhi hai...

iss taraf agar baaton baaton me puchte dikhate to zyada interesting lgta...

Manglu ki manzil line...bechara raghav aur kuch jaan pta uss se pehle hi manglu gir gya aur raghav k bhi chote aayi

mujhe ek cheez samjh nhi aayi agar raghav ki identity reveal ho hi gyi thi to use jail me rakhne ki kya zarurat thi...and fir jail ka khana 😲

waise wo trick godman ko marne ki zabardast thi...ye to guess hi nhi kar paye...kafi innovative idea tha...yahan writer se khush huyi ..aur raghav ka sabko khana khilane ki koshish krna aur fir kisi ko khane naa dena zabardast tha 😆

Hope writers Raghav k past ki history proper dikhaye dusre show ki tarah bich me hi naa show band ho jaye...

Ooh...Quantico. So excited for it. I am going to see it probably on Putlocker when I get time. Good for PC!

Thanks a lot for posting your comments- they are awesome, as always!

You know what, i am glad that the series is on And TV.

Knowing Star, they would shut down their weekly shows in 10 weeks or so. I have seen Airlines, Private Investigator, Gulmohar Grand... They never do justice to these shows.

Better shows have been aired on Sony, for eg- Powder, and Special Squad on Star One.

And TV is giving a chance for all its shows to pick up, even its fiction dailies. With the way they are promoting this series, I think it's here to stay at least for 5-6 months. Let's see.

Can I just say that I fully agree with your list of positives and negatives? You are bang on as usual😃

The episode itself was nothing remarkable. It was the protagonist's past that was more engaging😊

Aap zarroor likhna- it's nice to see your comments as always⭐️

Exactly- epi itna achcha bhi nahi tha. Starting was good, but they lost direction somewhere.

The disguise wasn't well done. I mean, we could clearly see that it was Raghav donning a look. Sharad did his best, though!

Usse itni directly sawaal nahi poochna chahiye tha. That too after coming to jail just now. Sabko pakka shak hota ki isse kya jata hai.

The way they poisoned the godman was awesome though :P

And I so agree with your comment about the villain- sirf hume pata hai ki kaise Arjun mein Sikander ka naam lekar humein ullu banaya tha. They better show him confronting the joker masked man at some point.

Try this link for Quantico: http://primeseries.to/serie/Quantico. I watch all my shows here.

I'm very glad as well. So far nothing on &TV seems to be related to TRP, so I'm hoping this show will have it's full run.

Ah I can never forget shows like Special Squad or Khotey Sikkey. Those are classics.

Absolutely.
