yes, sai baba was very good at the start actually, I use to watch it .. but they do try to put some tadka in it. and some of the lines given to sai baba are so made up by their own brains,.. that i gave up. u have to handle things very carefully when u r making something like this. still, Sai baba is ok.

PRC - utter garbage. do not beleive in single thing they show u. but, Sonia, PRC was famous for his lovestory u know.. Atleast the novel this serial was supposed to be based on PRRaso (by his court poet) has a lot to do with his and sanyogita's lovestory! - tho' it was absolulely nothing like they showed it. - prc and sanyogita fell in love with each other without seeing them.. here.. it was a typical made up for episodes thingy..

also, prc was (very normal at that time) married when very young, and had abt 7 wives.. no mention of his any other wife in the serial.. the reason given was it will be unethical to show this on TV!! - ab bolo! 😕😕

Sonia, I remember some mahabharat, not sure who made it but it was a big thing a few years back.

Kets, it would be unethical to show 7 wives on telly. yet umpteen affairs, marrying the wrong person, child swopping..none of this is unethical? Go figure 😕

You are right about that Ket..PRC was known for his love story as well..but they have altered it ridiculously and that is just uncalled for!!!..i wish it goes off air..it deserves to...making fun of our history!!!..and people even watching it..but then again PRC was only popular abroad...its not so popular in India....and Nisha ya that old Mahabharat was good..it finished 10 years ago i think...but it was as close as they could get..at least they werent changing the story drastically!!!

Nisha, try watch Sai Baba, though ket is right its a bit extra here and there, but still basics are right so no harm. Its a good watch occassionally.

Nish, the mahabharat you watched is most likely by BR chopra. the one sonia is speaking abt. It was very well handled i think. I will even call it a classic. a definitly must watch thing.

It also was quite well researched and sticks verry close to mahabharat story. even the script dialogues are respectfully handled (many of which are direct word to word translations) 😊 . It had limitations no doubt but was sure a classic i think..

y, I think it was Kets. I remember it used to come on a Sunday, everyone in the family would stop whatever they were doing & watch. I definitely agree, it was a classic - I seem to remember the story being kept to the original. I wish they would show that again now..

@ sonia, PRC was very popular in india mind u. actually b'coz of that young prc - rajat. speccially in teenagers!

I have to say I liked how they started off. it had quality.. and they were atleast sticking to 1 version. but then the whole thing went totally down.

The most classic thing on Indian Tele acording to me was Chanakya. and then .. comes chabi and mahabharat.

It would be worth it if they would show that again...and stop showing Jai Maa Durga type serials!!! But they wont...because a repeat show will not generate much income..and we are here to make more money..more income..increase profitibality!!!..remember!!! 😉 😉

I guess it probably started well..and you are right about the young boy..he was good!!!..i think what happened was that initially the story wasnt drastically distorted..but became as the serial progressed and then started loosing its charm..i think thats what happened.

I agree about Mahabharat..we use to watch it religously every Sunday.
