sai baba...also havent seen that...but i think its ok...story-wise and all that. trps are also good even in the 7pm slot.
prc...now that also wasnt doing well initially but they were sticking to history...till a handsome lad called rajat tokas was cast as the teenage prc. he was so good that star plus extended his role and started getting in stuff that didnt happen in history. that was also ok initially as prc became more of an adventure show where 5 teenage boys go out and have adventures. no connection with history but u could always say that yes its possible that prc would have had such adventures as a teenager. but to retain rajat they started diverting from history starting with prc and sanjogita falling in love in childhood. after that they never looked back. now its diverted so much that i have a doubt that this story is of some modern 20th dude prc who wears such costumes...i mean the stories, dialouges, situations everything. not even remotely connected to history except that the characters have the same names as those closely connected to the original prc. and yes i dont watch it any more as i cant take it. and the show still remains popular trp-wise...i guess like balaji shows this is also one bad habit that refuses to go away. but one positive point is unlike when rajat was around the viewership isnt growing either.
so what's the connection between these 3 shows? all made by sagars...the same guys who first made ramayan. a modern spiced up version of ramayan is running on ndtv imagine again again made by sagars. other than them even the chopras have made ramayan.
as for mahabharat...the first one was made by the chopras...thoose who havent seen it...see it asap. get hold of the dvds...they are always available. i saw a repeat recently and it doesnt looked dated...looks fresh as ever. its the best show made on indian television.
i think sanjay khan also made another version of mahabharat which no one saw. now 2 more versions of mahabharat are being made. one by ekta kapoor and another by bobby bedi. the bobby bedi one will be on star plus and prolly replace panchvi pass. the balaji one will be on 9x and will be a daily prolly in the same slot as panchvi pass. btw one trivia...the star plus mahabharat was directed by dr. chandraprakash dwivedi(director of chanakya) but now he has backed out. he says they were initially supposed to come on air in 2009. but now due to balaji's mahabharat star wants the show to air from august 2008. he cannot handle the pressure of impossible deadlines and do a shoddy job.
ok im done with my essay and u guys can start praising me for my gk. 😃
