Varun Badola is a well-known face on television, who has worked in top serials like Des Mein Nikla Hoga Chand, Astitva -- Ek Prem Kahani, Koshish -- Ek Aasha, Aek Chabhi Hai Padoss Mein and Ghar Ek Sapna.

But his popularity did not ensure a win in Sahara One's [Get Quote] Jhoom India, where he lost the title to Sachin Tyagi. Varun talks about the show, and his experiences.

How was it to be in the Jhoom India finals?

Nothing great. It was expected. I had full confidence in my ability.

This is the third reality show (after Nach Baliye and Comedy Circus) that you have participated in. Which was the toughest?

Comedy was easier because I love it. But I was the first one to be eliminated in that show. Singing was much easier than dancing.

Why do you think you lost in Jhoom India?

I stopped thinking about that. After a few rounds, I really didn't bother about winning or losing.

Whom do you give credit for reaching the finals?

I give full credit to Ananth Vaidyananthan, a vocal expert. After sitting with him, I realised how much I was missing. He taught me many important things.

Akriti Kakar, my mentor, whom I got the initial training from. She is very young and talented. I won't compare her with Sudesh Bhosle and other big singers. This competition was really critical for her.

And of course, a pat on my back because I took this competition in the right spirit.

You wife Rageshwari is a singer. Did she give you any tips?

I would ask my wife to come to my rehearsals. She would spend 45 minutes with me. She was my lucky mascot. Whenever she came to my rehearsals, my performance went up. She did give me valuable tips like facial expressions.

Your favourite performance on Jhoom India?

I enjoyed performing Kache Dhage. And the last performance, from Kailesh Kher's album.

How was your experience in Jhoom India?

It was remarkable experience. After 11 years, I resumed singing and started listening to good music. I took up this as a challenge and worked really hard.

Jhoom India boosted my confidence, and helped me to stay focussed. Now, I have mental strength too.

Do you want to take up singing as a career?

You cannot take up everything you learn as a career. I have hired Vaidhyanathan to train me. I want to grow as a singer.

Any movie offers?

If I get a role, I will definitely do films.

Thx for the interview.. 😊 😊
With a person of Varun's capability I dont think he needs to worry about anything.. After all, he is our most lovable Sandy babu.. 😳
Btw, Varun and Rajeshwari make such an adorable couple, always complimenting each other..
