Small town girls arrive on Sony |
Story of small town girls seems to be the current favourite of television producers. A new show based on four small town girls is soon to be launched on Sony. Noted script writer Anirudh Pathak marks his debut as a producer with this show. Anirudh has written scripts for shows like Aathva Vachan, Dulhann…, Kahaani, etc. His newly launched production house is named as Emotions films. A source from the production house informed, "The show is based on the story of four girls from Banaras. These girls are best friends and their families are also bonded to each other. The families reside in a same lane. The title of this show is Hum Ladkiyan. It is a daily and it's likely to air at 8.30 pm." Adding further, our source says, "The cast comprises of senior actors like Rajendra Gupta and Seema Bhargav. Virendra Saxena, who played Jassi's father in Jassi Jaissi Koi Nahin, will be doing voice over. New comers Pallavi Gupta, Tapeshwari Sharma, Urmila Tiwari and Toshila Verma are playing the lead roles. Rajendra Gupta is playing the role of Dada while Seema Bhargav plays Dadi. Actors Mitesh Pandey, Ashok Lokhande and Girish Sachdev will be playing paternal roles. Manoj Goel, who was seen playing a funny sardar (Jogle) in Aek Chaabi Hai Pados Mein, is playing the negative lead here. He gets married to one of the girl's for the sake of property and he tries to create problems in these families." Says Anirudh Pathak , "I had to do a research from my side to make this show. My target audiences are girls from the age group of 15-24 years. Television has vast viewers from this age group. I have cast new comers to add freshness to the show. The idea of working with new comers always works on television." |
