Hello Friends and fellow Antara viewers,
I have been a silent reader of all your months of hard work, updates and discussions. Hats off to all of you for being so consistent and involved, it does a take a lot off dedication, for we all lead such busy and overbooked lives. I am so appreciative of the effort the Antara team is putting in showing us something different and so good. All autistic children deserve such a platform as well as all the love & understanding we can give.
I would like to share with you that my debut book, Right Fit Wrong Shoe, just released in India. It is the story of Nandini Sharma, a passive-aggressive, emotional eating, twenty six year old, working girl. Her life could be simple but she works hard to keep it complicated. Nandini is true mix of Neanderthal philosophies and 'aaj ki aurat' (twenty first century's woman) ideology. . Nandini has been bitten, for better or worse, but definitely bitten, by Bollywood. Her spirit is undefeatable; she mocks certain death (Aditya) and suffers stoically for love (Aditya, again. Go Figure!) Her accomplice in all her escapades is Sneha Verma. That one friend who knows us better than we do and the one we trust more than Stayfree or Clearasil.
The book is a genuine effort, on my part, to provide the milieu of hardworking people, young and old, of India with a humorous read, without overlooking the intelligence and thinking quotient of our personalities. Right Fit Wrong Shoe, is now available, in local bookstores and online book websites.
I would love to have you wonderful people, if you have time, read my work and send me your thoughts.
Warmly,
Varsha Dixit
