Now on to the main point, I confess I don't exactly hate Aatri anymore.... I could see the regret in her eyes when she looked at Antara's bruised hand. She was feeling guilty for having caused that pain to Antara. I think this whole angle was brought in to make it more intense, to make people understand that Autism does not mean mental retardness.... Aditya's dialogues were right to the point, all the education and degrees is of no use if one holds such stereotypical beliefs and have faith in babas and tantrics.... subject their children/relatives to follow the tantric treatment and forgo science and medicine.... when you think about it, there are just too many people out their who believe babas and tantrics can cure anything, they waste money and time by going to them...
Just think about it, parents who discover that their child is not normal have trouble accepting the fact that their child can't be cured, in their desperate attempt to cure their child they get influenced by their family/friends/neighbors and seek help from babas, tantrics in hope of curing thier child from the illness... I know this happens in many families, my family has gone through this.... have friends who have gone through similar experiences....
From what I look at the whole Aarti and Aditya scene was a shout out to all those educated and uneducated individuals in this world, who choose to be ignorant, who hold such prejudice beliefs and seek help from tantric and babas rather than going to the doctor. All in all I am glad they brought in this angle.....
Seriously what is the use of all the education when one's thinking is still clouded with stereotypical beliefs and assumptions? one must first change their thinking!
