SHOT 1 "Good Morning Students. As you all know Mr. Singh is on sick leave for unknown duration, Mrs. Vedika Mathur will be your new literature teacher." The dean of the college introduced Professor Vedika to the rest of the students and left them for further introduction. "So guys. Hi." Vedika said with the prettiest of the smile she had. "Hello Ma'am !!" All said in unison. "Now that we'll be having a long journey together, hope you all will enjoy." Vedika said as she moved to the desk and kept her hand on it. She took a novel and opened the first page of it. "So let's begin with the..." She was going to read the first line of the novel when the door was jerked open. "Sorry." She heard the person who opened the door mutter and he rushed to his seat. "Yaar Sahil where were you? I called you so many times." Karan whispered. "I wasn't interested in this literature class and thought to bunk it but Maa pestered me to attend." Sahil said without paying heed to the new Professor. "May I know what you both are discussing please." Vedika said looking at them. "Marr gye." Karan said looking on the ground. "This is not Mr. Singh's voice." Sahil thought and finally looked at the owner of the voice. "Hey ! I'm asking something from you two." Vedika said again. "It's nothing Ma'am. I was just asking Sahil where was he." Karan said standing up. "What takes you Mr. Sahil to be late for the class?" Vedika asked looking into Sahil's eyes. Sahil was lost in the beauty of the Professor. When Vedika didn't receive a reply to her question she repeated it. "I asked you Mr. Sahil, what it took you so long to come." This time she had a higher tone. The one thing Professor Vedika Mathur hated in her life was indisciplined students. She is her best self with all sort of students except that sort of and here she had got one perhaps.
When Karan saw Sahil animatedly looking at their new professor. He nudged him with his elbow bringing Sahil back to the classroom. "My Badi Maa wasn't well actually." He built up a quick lie. Karan nodded his head in slow dismissal. "Kya hoga iss ladke ka." He said to himself in the lowest of the tone possible so that it is not heard by anyone else. "Okay. Concentrate here." Vedika said and engrossed back into the thing she loved the most, that is teaching. The bell rang and Vedika wound up and left the classroom. For once in Sahil's life he felt something strange which he was not able to define.
He was sitting in the canteen stirring the cappuccino still lost in the hazelnut eyes. "Aap mein kuch toh baat hai jo mujhe normal hi nhi hone de rahi." He said looking into oblivion. "Oye Sahil. What are you doing here? Hum kabse tera auditorium mein wait kar rahe the." Said Karan. "Haan. Humko auditorium mein bula ke janab lunch kar rahe." Nidhi said sitting beside him. Sahil didn't hear anything. When they didn't get any response from Sahil Nidhi shook him. "Oh hello. We're talking to you." It was then he returned to the present. "Haan. Haan. When did you both come?" Sahil asked. "Where are you lost haan?" Nidhi punched him on his arms. "Nowhere." Sahil said looking in his hot coffee that was now cold. "Say a sorry to your Badi Maa when you go back." The voice was familiar. All turned to look at the owner of the voice. "Ma'am?" Sahil said standing up. "Subah jo jhooth bola tha about her health uske liye okay. Sahil. When you were born na I was already in college so please haan. All I hate is indiscipline. Be good and I'll be all good and happy with you guys. I'll take your leave. Enjoy your meal." Vedika left. Sahil was still in awe of that lady.
