This is quite a famous story from the English Literature...(somewhat modified by me...lol)

There was this really strange lady...She lived all alone on a Hill...She didn't like anyone visitng her except the two maids that came after a month to clean the house...The people in the town heard really odd things about her...They said when she was a girl her father died...Since her father didn't let her date when he was alive...When he died she found a boyfriend...She got really possessive about her boyfriend...She thought her boyfriend may leave her...So the last time the town people saw her in the town was when she bought a rat poison from a store...Her boyfriend visited her for the last time, after that he never came to her house...Years later the lady died...The two maids who used to come to clean her house after a month found her dead...She was buried...Sometime later the town people decided to break her house down to make a factory there...The maids were sent to her house to collect any valuable things left in the house...They were cleaning a room...Which was full of dried roses and bridal things...The bed in the room was had dried roses spread on it and a CORPSE...The Corpse was of her boyfriend...She had killed him years ago because she thought he might leave her just like her father did...Next to the corpse the roses were missing forming the shape of the lady...The lady had been sleeping next to her stinky love for years...

-That would be all...lol

Nice stories guys!

Well since everyone's telling a story, why should I be left out. 😊

This took place 9 years ago. It was right before I came to the U.S. My mom has experienced this and she's the one who told me this story.

My mom was a teacher at a girls high school and one day one of the girls in my mom's English class just fainted. Few of the other girl students helped her to the school's office. They made her lie down. All the teachers gathered around this girl, including my mom, but my mom sat far away from her. Almost in the back of the room. All of a sudden the girl spoke, but in a man's voice. The girl never opened her eyes, but all the teachers could hear a man's voice. That guy who had taken over the girl knew abt everyone's life. He knew abt most of the teachers there and their gossipy behavior. He also told the teachers how he has taken over this girl. He said that he does not harm this girl at all. In fact he takes care of her. He also said that he leaves her body before she gets home and gets back into her when she leaves the house.

The scariest part was that he talked to my mom. He knew my mom's name too. He said to my mom why r u sitting all the way back there. Come close to me. My mom was sooo scared, she started praying and she moved toward the girl's body. She went and sat there next to him and he told my mom not to worry so much. He told my mom that she will be going to U.S. soon and also that she shouldn't worry abt my eldest bro(who for some reason couldn't come to the U.S. with us). After this he opened his eyes and scared the hell out of my mom! He stared straight into my mom's eyes. After that he said that it's time for the girl to go home and if she doesn't get home in time then her parents will be worried. Right after that the girl woke up and the teachers helped her home.

I know this isn't very scary, but if u experience this yourself then this is pretty creepy. I would hate to be taken over by spirits. I still wonder if he is still controling that girl. I forgot the girls name.

This is a true story!

India's ghost fair draws thousands
By KS Shaini
BBC News, Malajpur, Madhya Pradesh

The witchdoctor (R) exorcises Rukmani. Pics: Prakash Hatbalne
Rukmani, 21, is a coy and demure Indian village girl, but her parents are convinced that she is haunted by ghosts.
"She speaks in a strange language. She speaks of people we don't know. She screams and faints," says her farm worker father.

So they have made a journey from their village in western Maharashtra state to an ancient fair of ghost busters in Malajpur in central Madhya Pradesh to rid their daughter of the ghost.

Rukmani and her parents have joined thousands of "haunted" people from all over India at this month-long ghost busters fair where witchdoctors congregate and exorcise spirits.

Today, Rukmani is one of the first clients to be exorcised as hundreds of the curious look on.

Some ghosts are sadists. Others want to take revenge on their tormentors. Others haunt people simply for fun

Chandrahas Singh, witchdoctor

One of the fair's 200-odd witchdoctors orders her to circle a local temple.

Then he sprinkles some water on the girl and chants what sound like prayers.

Suddenly, Rukmani is tossing her hair violently, rolling her eyes and swaying uncontrollably as her friends try to hold her back.

'Why are you troubling her?'

"Who are you?" asks the witchdoctor.

"I won't reply," answers Rukmani in a voice her parents say is not her own.

Witchdoctors make many of the clients crawl on the ground

Now the witchdoctor picks up a broom and begins hitting Rukmani, which seems to be a sure way to rid clients of apparitions.

"Why are you troubling her? Go away, go away," yells the witchdoctor beating Rukmani.

A few minutes later, the witchdoctor announces Rukmani "cured".

Her parents are relieved and walk away with their daughter, who looks quite the same, after paying the witchdoctor.

Rukmani is luckier than many of the more unfortunate clients.

Some are thrashed mercilessly till the witchdoctors declare them cured. Other clients turn violent, hitting people and rolling on the ground.

In addition to broom beatings and prayer, witchdoctors treat their clients by making them crawl and licking prasad (divine food).

'Tackled firmly'

I asked one of the ghost busters why apparitions possessed humans in the first place.

"Ah, some ghosts are sadists. Others want to take revenge on their tormentors. Others do it simply for fun," says Chandrahas Singh.

The fair is said to be nearly 100 years old

"But all have to be tackled firmly."

Besides possessed people, the fair is also frequented by cured patients who come to offer their thanks.

Farm owner Jagdish Bain Naik from Gujarat state is one of them.

He says he has been coming to the fair for the past 10 years. The first time was after a "ghost entered me and tried to destroy me".

"I felt like throwing myself before a running train, selling off my farm, leaving my family and going away somewhere," says Naik.

He says he went to several psychiatrists, but their treatment did not help.

Then someone told him about Madhya Pradesh's bhooton ka mela (fair of the ghosts).

Pent-up frustration

Naik says he was cured the first time he came here and since then has returned every year to watch the proceedings.

Rationalists and psychologists dismiss the fair as superstitious.

The head of the department of psychology at the Bhopal-based Barkatullah University, KN Tripathi, has an explanation for the large turnout.

"The majority of clients are rural women. They often feign being haunted by ghosts to abuse their husbands and in-laws. This is almost an outlet for their pent up frustrations.

"Being possessed is also a form of attention-seeking. Once possessed, you are cared for. Your wayward behaviour becomes excusable."

Local government officials are more pragmatic.

"If people have faith in something, who are we to interfere?" asks one district official.

I have a ghost story to tell, which was told by my mother's grandmother, and so my mother told it to me. My mother's grandmother used to live in the village before her wedding, so there was a man living next to her house. The man married a lady who was very pretty. The lady married that man on one promise, that the man will never ask her to raise her either hand, and ask her to give him something. They both were married for many years, and had children too, and the man kept his promise alive. One day there was a light problem in the house, so the man told the lady to give her the matchstick box, which was upstairs, in the kitchen. The house was two stories, so the kitchen was on the second. The lady came in the backyard of the house, which was downstairs, and raised her hand high up in the air. The shock was the arm got so long, and reached the kitchen of the house, which was on the second storie. After getting the matchstick, and giving it to her husband, the lady dissapeared, and no one saw her ever again.

Yes, the husband did see her hand getting long, so he screamed, and all the people of the neighborhood gathered. The husband was shocked to see this, and thus found out that his wife was a witch. The children led a life without their mother. Well, the children were not ghosts, they were real human beings.
