I think everybody who has watched 2612 will agree with me that it is one of the best, for me THE BEST serial in ages and ages. So brilliantly written, directed and acted. Very sleek.
But why it works for me - why I root for it (I honestly never before cared if a serial continued or not) to continue and have seasons upon seasons is because of the human element.
How much we love Randeep and Rashmi. Without their love this would have been just another sleekly made thriller which we loved to watch but forgot later.
Rashdeep makes us want to watch it again and again. I can easily watch 2612, 2-3 times more, entire serial! Love it that much.
Here is the lead pair which is so straight forward, decent, hard working, all they care about is their families and doing honest good work.
Kudos to writers, director and actors. They have created Randeep and Rashmi such that we cannot help but fall in love with them. It helps too that the lead pair is so gorgeous but non-filmy! Their eyes speak and smiles bring magic. They seem so real to me.
So to get back to my point, if it was just thriller I would have forgotten about it. To see Rashdeep fight together a battle which they are forced into and win - everyone was rooting for them.
Their love, their fights, romance, such simple yet brilliant scenes that is what keeps me coming back and asking for more. I love them and their life.
So it really upset me to see them so off after their engagement. I am sure there is perfectly valid reason with the writes/director, but till they show it I am on tenterhooks rooting for them to be what they became by the end of 2612. They did not even say they loved each other but we can see how much they do. Their sweet hugs and hand holding and just the looking at each other.
Of course they would not have worked but for the brilliant story and script, the terror plot, the entire cast, they all made Rashdeep. Also the fact that Randeep is part of STF (& SIU), we all are proud of our police, army, security agencies. Here to see them in such real and positive light is a treat. We never get to tell them we are proud of you and depend on you. So Randeep's fight was our fight too.
So please if anybody who reads this post and have not watched 2612, watch 2613 for Randeep and Rashmi and their fight, which seems like our fight. You will also fall in love with them like I did.
