Our fragile world which is fraught with a danger of a new kind, unleashing of harrowing man made calamity... When 26 / 11 struck I remember surfing my comp and being glued to the live telecast of the news channels as it flashed images and stories of horror, pain, fear, courage that had no religion, caste or creed... which slowly turned into a united expression of shock and grief and resilience of a city and it's people to not bow down in the face of terror... A fight of the city which never sleeps, the nation and it's people which time and again is subject to such thoughtless barbaric acts to not let it impact them in the wrong way..Our diversity fails to unite us maybe an unknown assailant will bring forth harmony and togetherness...A sensitive subject to make a series on and trying to stay true too the real world without the usual heightened patriotic jingoism.. An appreciative effort by the channel and producers. I hope the entertainment that blares from our screen makes us aware and vigilant.. The opportunity to go beyond entertainment which exists is hopefully made good use of...

You are right, Koel... there is no justification to these heinous acts... but that does not mean... we should not have an insight into these peoples' mental framework...for example...Shahana...she was desperately in love with her husband... why? what was it about Malik that she was in love with him? Wouldn't any normal woman be repulsed by what he did or was planning to do? Did she covet the sense of power? Did Malik have some charisma, some pull that excited her? Or was it Shahana herself?what was their ideology? so far, they have not brought in religion... and did u notice? Mastaana and Rinky seems to be Hindus. So, what is their point? Why are they doing this? What is it to them if India is shattered or saved or makes progress?Shahana killed John... she pulled the trigger, looking straight into the boy's eyes... the faithful boy, who held her hand when she delivered her baby... who stayed with her... who helped her... who looked after her... why? because she wanted to don her husband's mantle. she chose her dead husband's bloodthirsty ambition over her living friend... who was innocent to boot. John's death was all the more tragic, because it was so pointless... what purpose did it serve... as far as Shahana and her mentor/FIL are concerned... The presence of a back story that drove some one to do such barbaric act or the absence of one which led the person to carry out the despicable acts because of a typical mental framework for me is besides the point. As the enormity and the heinousness of the crime cannot be justified.. It needs to be eradicated, throttled with iron hands to create a feeling of a shudder through the men and women who plan to enact upon it.To make them wary of the consequences of their actions...Terrorism for me in the Indian context is defined by 3 haunting images that I can never forget.. the adrenaline rush and excitement exhibited by Kasab and his fellow accomplice in the footage of CST terminal, the stoic interview of the general manager of Taj hotel who saw his wife and 2 kids die a painful death in front of his own eyes, and a young lady (kashmiri pandit ) with a small baby in tow who was visiting our locality in Calcutta with her family asking for food not money as they had fled from Kashmir leaving behind everything. She spoke fluent english and her facial expression of shame for being reduced to beg for food...
