These kind of shows attracts male audience.
People still addicted to shows of 1000+ episodes.
Long way to go for Indian audience to accept foreign
version shows.
We enjoy watching this drama with family.

I feel blessed to have access to international shows as desi viewers be they live in India or abroad watch and promote stupid shows. I don't see other channels now taking risk like Colors did with 24

well weekend is very tough competion with DID and Nach baliye i dont see 24 getting season 2 .Its sad but i am being practical here

Colours, I feel, was the wrong channel for Anil Kapoor to choose, because they are doing nothing to support it. They seem nore keen on silly reality shows, crude comedy and painful family dramas. STAR Plus, I feel, would do more justice to the show, being Fox's partners and not having too many big shows.

But there's no way a show with one death an episode, violent interrogations/kidnappings and scenes as dirty as the Qureshi ones TRPs. At best, it has shock value.

Rival Sony's CID has low TRPs, but they keep it running for years, even when TRP-grossing shows wrapped up within a year. 24 will keep running as long as Anil Kapoor wants it to run.

hmm CID doesnt have low TVT's it has something around 5000.It has always maitained something between 2 and 2.5 TRP which is decent besides its the highest rated show on sony.

TRP's, more often than not, are fixed by the channels or production houses. It's no big deal, taking a box attached to a TV that provides TRPs and fitting a booster circuit in it, just to inflate TRPs. Most of these other shows on Colors are aired at least four times an episode, and that crude comedy nights show gets four runs in a row. Obviously, it will get a higher viewership. 24, on the other hand, can win a few awards, especially in technical categories, and the acting here is a lot better than on any other show.

Disagree. AK approached all the lead channels, other channels simply hesitated to take the risk. Other channels weren't even keen on trying this idea then how can we say that those channels would have done justice to it?
Colors is the appropriate channel according to me. They're promoting the show too, constant mention on the other popular shows like BB7 and CNWK.

Correct..and i have seen that SP and Zee never takes risk and they play safe by dishing same saas bahu saga...to get required ratings...If u check past only Colors have done different themed shows be it Female Infanticide based show Laado...Ambani based show Mukti bandhan...Dacoit and gang based show like Laagi tujhse lagan and Phulwa...so i think we shoudl support Colors channel and be proud that 24 airs on this channel...And they are promoting very well...but its dumb veiwers who watch stupid reality shows..and avoid 24

Colours are not doing enough with their show. This isn't some offbeat show by some independent studio, but a show bought from Fox at a high price, re-made at a high budget with plenty of India-specific mods, and also backed heavily by sponsors- especially Tata Motors, and also has some amount of product placement (Mercedes E-Class, Samsung Galaxy), and also plenty of big stars and familiar actors. The studio is trying really, really hard to make this show succeed.

But it's difficult to catch a run of 24- there is only one re-run, and if we're lucky, we get one more. Colors have uploaded episodes of a lot of their shows, but none of 24's episodes have been uploaded. I am not sure if they're holding them back because they intend to earn in DVD sales. But the lack of re-runs is not helping the show get viewers, especially when other important shows on this channel come throughout the week, and sometimes, the crude CNWK and equally crude BB7 sometimes air four hours in a row.

24 faces competition from Arjun (STAR) and CID (Sony), both of which are supported sufficiently by their channels. You can't get a day without a CID episode- at least once a week, there's a CID marathon. Easy way to get more TRPs for the show. Not so easy for 24, which has two episodes a week, and each episode repeats only once.

But off late their decisions have been weird. Like..

Scrapping NBT when it had a decent TRPs without any promo
Continuing with Simar & Uttaran
Not many re-runs of 24
