And that's exactly why she is not too keen on taking up projects that offer her the role of a saree-clad bahu. "I don't want to be stereotyped. Instead, I want to shed this daughter-in-law image of mine. Hence, turning down such offers has been a conscious decision," she avers and quickly adds, "The best part about 12/24 Karol Bagh is that it helped me play diverse roles – that of a docile bahu and villainous vamp. Isn't that amazing? After all, not many actors get to do that."
Less than a month after graduation, Devyani got an opportunity to do what has turned into her passion. "I was doing print modelling assignments and studying philosophy at Miranda College, Delhi University. That's what, I believe, gave me the chance to enter the showbiz industry."
And what kind of bahu does she promise to be in her real life? "Obviously, the perfect one. It is all about being on the same page with your in-laws.
