priya,
finally, an admin comment ... i don't know where the issue of vendetta came from...i own the iambic pentameter comment, ..i admit..but it WAS said in jest..and in no way as a personal insult..which is how it is being portrayed...it was an SNL spoof moment!!
a forum is a place to exchange ideas..i have read posts on this site before...and what prompted me to join IF was..pardon the self-made vocabulary here..the total "archaicness" of some of the ideas expressed...one can sit passive and just read..or one can interact and exchange ideas and learn/take in something new!!!and while in no way were personal potshots taken at any time....i did note that contrary opinions were often being suppressed, or told off on many occasions, and this was to others..which also i had read in mild disgust!!
priya..we are all adults here and we know the rules ..in life and otherwise..there HAS to be room for free speech..that is the definition of a forum...is it not!! unless it has become a caesarean mockery?
if everyone had to agree with everything one said..this would be a boring world, with bland colourless palettes..and that is what was happening!!
these discussions are far more lively, thought provoking for writers from both opinion sides than the bland yes sirjee type comments.. so feel free to pull apart my thoughts or opinions on any topic on this forum...u may not agree and i respect that...but i do NOT..under any circumstance take it personally..
remember..u guys are entities in space...not my friends, not my family..whose opinions i cherish..
and i have to say...what a joy it was to meet some like minded free thinkers and make friends..a purpose of the forum accomplished...non??
criticize, jest..don't be malicious..ramas /raksha could have written to anyone of us and asked us ..and we would have all shouted from here to antartica..that NO..it wasn't personal, but an attempt to add woefully bereft comedy into a situation wherein one could then take a joke and run with it..
did any1 not visualize this scenario...a mock abhi-simi skit..or an anuj-anita sequence??
lets keep to the topic at hand..but please lets not forget, there is enough room for humour and room for constructive criticism...
i end with a malayalam proverb-"Irumbum Vidhyayum irikke kedum " -the gist of which is-"iron and knowledge both rust with disuse"

Gals Gals what's happening. This is a discussion forum and not a battle field.

We all look at things in different ways and thats alright. But lets not take it to a situation where we end up fighting. Ramas has written her poetry and lets respect her work. This is not for any contest and its her personal interpretation so lets not go as far as Iambic pentameters.
Ah! Finally, a flicker of sanity reigning! Thank you for striving towards even-handedness Priya.

KB your poem was really hilarious but there was pun intented. Yes when a topic is opened its up for discussion but lets not take potshots.
The intent has never been to be in 'potshot mode'. It appears that you're vastly unfamiliar with the goings on that have led to this furor! Most of history clearly shows that fascism has a very short shelf-life, thus, it behooves those in admin roles to ensure that all members are treated equitably. It is especially annoying when self-appointed, self-anointed, completely uninvited, doyennes of permissible behavior and defenders of the faith, join the fray for the express purpose of ensuring that they remain the cynosure of all eyes . . . typically the modus operandi of the pathetically insecure . . . and there comes a point, when such behavior should be handled in a manner that it deserves . . .
It looks like you were upset over Ramas over something prior to this and this may be a retaliation to that.
Priya - I should call your attention to the phenomenon of 'underground resistance' to the Third Reich during WW II . . . what you have just witnessed with our 'anti-poetry', is, in some remote sense, an analogue . . . this is not unjustified (you may have to meander through those posts that were prematurely and unforgivably 'closed' for the breathtakingly inane rationale of 'hurt feelings') . . . but the larger objective with the shaayari was one of generating levity . . . whatever some may contend (and no paucity of that kind in these parts), between the 1/2 dozen of those of us who have 'participated' in the 'show', the humor quotient is somewhere in the range of uncountable infinity!

You are free to post even if you do not agree but please put your comments across in a manner that does not offend the member posting. Right now the discussion has taken a whole different turn and lets get it back to what it was about Abjhi and Simi's love in poetry.KB I am sure you can share some meaningful shayaars and not just dissected ones.
Of course we can! What we wish is the freedom to express our ideas in a way we see fit . . . those in disagreement are not compelled to dwell (this does not imply that contrary arguments cannot be presented) . . . if you personally can find even one, single, solitary prior instance where we have transgressed - even mildly - I will eat my best Sunday hat!

Lets forgive and forget and move on. Happy Discussing!!!
I urge you mods/admin folks to please come to a consensus on impartiality and the right degree of 'hands-off' ness . . .

Do you hear yourself??? You're arguing like a little kid! And you say " we" (whoever that is) have no class. You may have no life and are able to go around arguing with others but I have many more productive things to do so good day to you!

Farwa, dear heart! Allow me this pedagogical indulgence . . . listen - arrectus auribus . . . be not perturbed by the brutum fulmen just levied at you . . . consistent with nature/nurture, streaks of schadenfreude I am sure can be both acquired and congenital (Anita is as good a sample as any) . . . sometimes, the congenital condition can manifest itself as coprolalia . . . some of that has come to pass today & you have had the misfortune to be in the path of this aspect of Tourette's syndrome . . . take this outburst cum grano salis & consider my apology - on behalf of those expected to be adult and humane - as a balm for your bruised feelings . . . remember 'fiat justia, ruat caelum' . . . our task remains . . .

...and to think of it, Simi sends that message in such a hurry and the expression on Abhi's face when he reads that was just awesome!! It was exactly how a person who has no knowledge that the other can write such lines would have when he reads that! Abhi never knew Simi was capable of writing those playful lines and he is in wonderment! That was such a great scene!! I too am fida over that initial SMS from Simi. Kudos to the creatives.

and ramas, your extensions were equally good. Each one of those punch lines were like googly and I liked him calling her 'sarkar' the best!! He likes her to control him, as if in "I am all yours"!

Yeah Bees his exprssion was really taken him for a surprise and then he gives a nice reply back !! Yes he never thought that Simi cud write such lines.. Actually its really sad that Simi's playful momnts ar hidden somewhere !! Abhi is trying to pull them out evn the catching game and then she also ready to play that with him and thn the way she pulls him by th collor and tells him not to leave her ..

I hope Simi can live her happiness whnever she is with Abhi😳
