Kanya noticed ranbir stare at her and malika maam smiling, she did not understand but joined ayaan and kunal. "Ayaan and kanya, ur invited to the reception it will be held here! We decided to do it here and meet u all. It will be like old days!. it will be next week, after the wedding, we aren't married here, we're going to geet's hometown. Aur apne pure parivaar ko laana, aur shruti ko bhi bulana, I lost contact with her…I think must tell her I had a crush on her back then" said kunal. Suddenly ayaan became a bit stiff and said a bit stonily,"I will inform her", smirking kanya went and sat on her seat, now she was facing ranbir and malika. A little bewildered kunal asked"What happened?", "Oh nuthin! Ayaan is very possessive abt his girlfrnd!" replied Kanya, "Kya baat kara hai!, sheesh….this is soo embarrassing, but to tell u the truth Geet had a crush on ayaan, we both have a lot in common! Haha", ayaan blushed at this news. Kanya cudnt stop smiling, ayaan blushing and all was too much for her!, and ranbir started smiling because he could feel the happiness and teasing in the room reach him.
Then kunal asked kanya "so I heard ur mum is getting married are we invited?". Ranbir looked up at kanya to watch her expression go from happy to stony and she replied curtly "ur invited, I will mail u the details don't worry I will meet u at ur reception. Now u must leave there is a meeting". Rabir noticed kunal and ayaan sharing a look which clearly said 'forget it she wont understand', shrugging kunal left after wishng every1. The meeting was okay, normal customer satisfaction reports and profit forecast crap. After every1 left except for ranbir, malika, ayaan and kanya who was packing her things, malika said "Ranbir , cum home BD, ur chachus, and cuzns r dying to meet u!", "maa, I don't want to.. plz I have my reasons, I cant go to ur home" said ranbir. Kanya felt tht ranbir had more to wht she knew abt him, "Kanya beta, come home tonite there is a family dinner, shruti will also be there, Ranbir no excuse ur sister is getting married, she want s to meet u before her wedding day" said malika. Kanya agreed but was reluctant to meet the nandas, it was because of rashmi, who for some reason was always rude to her and ira, kanya knew tht it was ira's wedding and she had to make the arrangements but if ira kept jumping and start demanding abt her wedding plans, it got annoying!
"Since you both will come from the hotel, ranbir u can pik kanya up" said malika with a sly smile. Ranbir knew his mother's plan and knew tht malika knew abt his feelings for kanya, smiling with his mother's behavior thinking, mothers will be mothers agreed to pick and drop kanya. Kanya took her leave and went to meet Cynthia as they had some knew complain frm a very old customer to handle.
After kanya left , ranbir asked "ayaan whts with kanya's mother getting married?, I met her dad tod…. Yesterday nite" the last part was not true but he felt tht ayaan shudnt knw tht kanya was with him for the entire nite. "You must have met aunty's fianc roy" said ayaan "Roy?, so where is kanya's real dad?" asked ranbir. "He passed away, good man he was. Kanya started working here after his death. Wht is more funny is tht pammi is not her real mother, but her stepmother but luvs her the same, her real mother left her when she was yung" said malika. "I knw I keep wondering whether roy is her step father or step-step father.She is finding it a bit difficult to adjust her feelings with Roy" said ayaan a bit sad, he wants to help kanya, but even he and shruti cant help her, kanya has raised many guards and becomes very defensive if any1 questions her.They both were very worried abt kanya, they knew tht kanya had accepte anand's death but never got over her loss.
Ranbir finally understood kanya's behavior with Roy and y she tried to explain her apologies to him. Thts y she acts so brave, she doesn't wan to get hurt thought ranbir, but how do I help her?. Then ayaan left leaving ranbir with malika, "sweet girl isn't she?, tht kanya" said malika, "oh yes, beautiful 1, I guess u knw ma I think or maybe i…." said ranbir, malika cuts him off "maybe u knw ur in luv with her. I knw u, ur my son, I knw everything u feel. Kanya is a beautiful and a very kind girl, and it would be an honour to have her as my daughter-in-law. U knw ur dad wanted a boi and I wanted a girl, but u were born, I had no idea how much I would suffer with u!, ghada kahika!", "Mom!!" said ranbir. "Back to the point, kanya became the daughter I always wanted, n I proud tht u chose her."
Ranbir, smiling, left the room, but now the thing he dreaded was to go back to his house. Ranbir did some work in his room and it was 8 pm, he went to meet kanya, but she was talking to some1, he dint want to invade her privacy, so he decided to leave, but was stopped by hearing his own name. "wow!, u spend the entire nite with ranbir and he dint even tuch u. I heard tht he was a casanova! " said Cynthia, "come on! He mite be a Casanova there, but here india he wont find any women like them" said kanya ,"oh! He will" said Cynthia and both of them chorused "Rashmi" "Bechaara ranbir, akal ka dushman!" said Cynthia. "u knw cyn I felt so weird yesterday nite, I mean when I was with him I felt u knw weird. Good weird!, n today when I woke up I saw his face in the morning" smiling said kanya remembered how he was asleep,"I mean he was the first person I saw and my day went good, well somewhat good, the bad part is I have to face tht rashmi!". " well, rashmi is bearable, I was under the impression u hated ranbir, u thought he is an ass, a donkey!"said Cynthia . Ranbir interrupted them with a fake cuff, slowly both of them turned arnd to be facing ranbir, kanya and ranbir were gazing each other. Kanya is thinking dam! Cyn! I told u don't open ur mouth, he heard tht, now he will …oh god! Im so messed up! While ranbir thinks"I ll be her donkey forever, but she actually felt sumthing for me, happy thn ever he was interrupted by cyn "oh! I have to go, last train, bye kanya!", "cyn, ruk, stay here, akele mut chod mujhe!, CYN!" whispered kanya, even though ranbir heard everything."Chale?" said ranbir, "ya…lisn she just made tht up, u knw I don't find u an ass or donkey" said kanya, "but u found me a ghenda!" grinned ranbir, kanya blushed and piked her bag and they left for the nanda mansion. On a traffic lite, kanya spoke to ranbir "Dreading it?" "yes" replied ranbir, "you should be happy!, they r ur family y wud u dread meeting them?" said kanya,"its not meeting them tht I dread, its visiting tht home!, it reminds me of my father and I had a history of problems with him, just brings out bitter memories" repled ranbir.
They reached the Nanda Mansion where every1 met and greeted Ranbir and Kanya. Kanya felt awkward because it was like entering the home with ranbir as more thn a frnd, she immediately went and sat with shruti, while Ira bugged her for details of the wedding. Ranbir, meanwhile was entertaining every1 else by giving them gifts he bought for them from London. Their servent who was called kaka announced dinner, every1 went to the dining hall, but kanya went to the kitchen, and helped kaka, while kaka protested. Ranbir saw this and smiled, kanya can be a pain when she wants but is a very kind girl, and his love and respect for her grew. After kanya sat on the table rashmi spoke up, pallavi had gone to play cards with her frndz "er..malika , I cant eat this, im being health conscious u knw, and indian food u knw a lot of calories", kanya noticed malika trying to keep her cool malika never liked rashmi, after commiting a mistake and then blaming it on kanya, who infact always helped her, had the guts to still live with them. She also knew pallavi was trying to rope in ranbir with rashmi, but was atleast happy tht ranbir never like Rashmi. Kanya decided it was time to help malika aunty, she said" Rashmi, if u don't want to eat it, here eat this" while handing her a power bar which she took out frm her bag. "whts this?" demanded rashmi, "oh! It s a non-fat, non-transfat,no calories, no taste…..actualy crap, u want to eat it?" rashmi ate it, it was nice, she asked for kanya more kanya obliged and gave her all the 3 tht she carried.
Then rashmi became rude again "u think im going to eat here, Im goin up in my room." She took the 3 bars and without a word of thanks she left. After every1 could here her room shut, they went back to eating thts when shruti spoke up "Ur soooo evil kanya!, u shud be give the bst evil award!", kanya just grinned and explained "the bar has 300g of sugar!" every1 laughed and the mood became slightly better. after dinner, kanya excused herself but did not return. ranbir decided he will go to the secret room he found, where whenever he had been disturbed abt anything he went and thought abt it there. He was sure of no interruption he wanted to think abt Kanya, it was his room since only he knew where it was. So he went over there, but instead of finding an empty room, he found a crying kanya.
He went and sat beside her and said,"im not going to ask u anything, if u want u can leave, or if u want u can cry on me" Kanya just fell on his chest and cried and kept crying.
