Oh, by the way… part of this chapter will be in Josh's point of view… just letting you know. I will give you a note when it will change into Josh's POV.

Chapter Seven

Kripa walked into class later that day, taking a random seat. She didn't notice who she had sat next to until it was too late to change.

"Why, isn't this a nice surprise?" Angad asked. Kripa groaned inwardly. Why her? She flashed a fake smile at him.

"You know how I love surprises," she responded. Before Angad could comment, the teacher entered the room. You could barely see the teacher because of his podium. Kripa felt rather sorry for the poor man. He must have been teased when he was younger. She looked at Angad out of the corner of her eye. He smirked, and she realized that he was planning something.

He discreetly pulled out a tennis ball, and aimed it at the side of the teacher's head. Kripa didn't even want to know why he carried around a tennis ball with him. Smirking to himself, he muttered something under his breath and then threw it. Angad having very strong arm strength threw the ball at the teacher with a lot of force. Kripa watched in horror as the teacher plummeted to the ground as the tennis ball made contact with his head. Kripa glared at Angad.

"How could you be so cruel?" she snarled. She immediately stood and approached the podium, and went behind it to find the teacher and help him.

"Sir?" she called uneasily. Kripa heard a muffled response from a few feet away from her. The teacher's head popped up and tried to get up. Kripa looked back at the rest of the class and noticed they were concealing smiles and trying not to laugh. She noticed Prithvi had started a mad coughing fit, and everyone else was simply laughing silently. She glared at the all before helping the teacher up.

"Are you alright?" she asked him. He nodded, trying to retain some of his dignity. Kripa quickly returned to her seat, and the teacher stood in front of the class, drawing himself up to his full height (which wasn't much).

"I will not ask who was responsible for this… accident. Keep in mind, though, that if it happens again the whole class will receive a punishment," he announced seriously. It was the first time Kripa had ever heard him ever threaten to punish them.

"Now, on with the lesson," he continued as if nothing had gone wrong. Kripa shook her head and stared at him intently. Angad looked over at her and rolled his eyes.

'Why is she always so serious?'

"ANGAD KHANNA!" Kripa yelled as she left the class. Angad stopped so abruptly that Kripa almost ran into him. He slowly turned and came face to face with the burning glare of Kripa Sharma.

"You called, my sweet?" Kripa glared harder, if possible. Angad knew if looks could kill he would be long dead by now.

"How could you be so irresponsible? You could have seriously injured the teacher!" she exclaimed. Angad had a feeling that he was in for a long scolding. He clamped an arm around her shoulders, holding tight enough that she couldn't shake him off, and loose enough that he wouldn't hurt her.

"Kripa, love, you know that it was all in good fun," he assured her. He knew she hated it when he used terms of endearment. That made it all the more appealing.

"I don't seem to find the amusement in almost seriously injuring one of our teachers! Honestly! I thought you had more sense than that!" she screeched. Angad sighed, knowing that it was no use. Kripa would be Kripa.

"Have you heard about the Halloween Social?" he asked casually. Kripa eyed him suspiciously.

"Of course I've heard about the Halloween Social! I'm part of the group organizing it! How could I not… wait a second! Stop trying to change the subject!"

Angad merely shrugged. "It was worth a try," he mused. Kripa finally wrenched herself from his grasp.

"I really can't talk to you right now," she snapped and started to stalk away from him.

"Has anyone ever told you that you look unbelievably attractive when you're angry?" he asked. Kripa stopped, but decided against commenting and continued walking away.

'Oh the joys of tormenting her,' he thought smugly as he headed to his room. He didn't have any more classes today and he could use some sleep.

Two Hours Later (Dinner)

Prithvi walked into the canteen, his feet immediately turning to his usual table. It was second nature by now. He scanned the length of the Table, looking for someone he knew. He spotted Kripa near the end talking to… Josh? Nah, couldn't be… he hadn't forgiven her yet, had he? Never the less, Prithvi walked towards them. He sat down and noticed that they were silent now, but the silence wasn't uncomfortable.

"What's going on, guys?" he asked. Kripa smiled slightly at him. Josh didn't reply.

"He's agreed to speak to me again," she announced. Prithvi smiled. He was glad that Josh had finally forgiven Kripa.

"That's good."

"Yes, it is."

An awkward silence appeared between the pair. Josh, sensing the tension decided to break the ice.

"So what exactly is this surprise that you have planned for me?" he asked Kripa curiously. Kripa grinned.

"You'll see," she responded mysteriously. Josh raised an eyebrow at his friend's strange antics. "Just remember… tonight at 8 in room 567. Got it? There will be someone there waiting for you," she told him. He sighed reluctantly and nodded.

"I trust you about this, Kripa. It better not be anything bad," he warned. Kripa looked at him, a look of mock innocence of her face.

"Honestly, Josh, would I ever do anything that would upset you?" she asked. He merely snorted and flicked his head towards Angad's table in reply. Prithvi watched the exchange between the two with curiosity. He had questions about how this came about, but knew better than to ask right now. He would ask Kripa what happened later. She would tell him, he was certain of that.

7:30, Dorm Rooms

"JOSH! You come down here right now! You're going to be late for you appointment!" Kripa yelled up towards the direction of his room. Prithvi was seated on a couch, working on a particularly nasty essay. Kripa heard Josh grumbling as he walked down the staircase.

"What appointment? Why can't you just tell me what's going on?" he demanded. Kripa shook her head, making sure not to smile. She didn't want to give anything away, now did she?

"You'll see, Josh! Now go!" she commanded, ushering him out the door.

"Fine, fine, I'm going! How long is this thing going to last? I'm hungry… I want to eat something before I go to bed," he whined.

"The surprise will involve eating. Now GO!" she told him. Josh seemed to brighten up at the mention of food and bounded down the hallway with renewed vigor. Kripa chuckled and closed the door once the tall boy was out of sight. She entered the room again, and took a seat on one of the armchairs. Prithvi looked up at her from his work.

"What exactly do you have planned?" Prithvi asked her. Kripa smiled evilly and told Prithvi what Josh was experiencing right about now. He found himself laughing so hard, his sides ached.

"If anyone needs that, it's Josh," he agreed. Kripa giggled.

"That's exactly what I thought."

Room 567 (Josh's POV)

I cautiously walked up the staircase leading to the room. What did Kripa have planned for me? I had to admit I was curious. I had only just begun speaking to her again, so I'm sure it's not anything that would make me hate her again… at least I hope not. I reached the top of the staircase and was surprised to find the room shrouded in darkness.

"Is anyone here?" I called. I didn't receive an answer, rather the room immediately flooded with light. I noticed a large table set fancily with many pieces of silverware, plates, napkins, and glasses. I stared at it, confused. What in the hell was going on here? Suddenly, a woman I didn't know appeared from a side room. I eyed her suspiciously. She was dressed just like one would imagine one of those old ladies would dress when having a tea party.

"You must be Josh," I heard her say. I nodded, bursting with curiosity. Finally, I caved.

"What's going on?" I asked her. She smiled sweetly at me and gestured for me to take a seat. I did so. I felt kind of funny, like an invisible force was binding me to the chair. Uh oh.

"I am here to teach you the fine art and highly renowned practice of etiquette," she announced. My eyes widened in horror. Etiquette? Kripa was going to pay for this…

END POV

"Why is Josh speaking to you again?" Prithvi asked her.

"Well… it's rather complicated," she told him, not wanting to explain. Prithvi shrugged.

"I'm listening."

"Well… when I walked into the canteen I saw him sitting at the end of the table. I knew he was still angry with me, but I also knew a sure way for him to forgive me…," she explained. Prithvi nodded, prompting her to continue. "Well, you know how I told you there's a Halloween Social coming up… and, well…," she stopped, not wanting to reveal the next part.

"And?" Prithvi asked.

"I asked him to go with me," she told him. Prithvi stared at her in shock.

"What about Angad?" he asked her. Kripa crinkled her nose in distaste.

"I'm a bit angry at him at the moment. I suppose this was to reconcile my friendship with Josh as well as to make him angry."

'Perhaps to make you a little jealous as well,' she added to herself. Prithvi shook his head.

"Kripa, why would you do that? You don't want to encourage things with Josh. You know how he feels about you… are you sure you're doing the right thing?" he asked. Kripa nodded.

'Why is she going with Josh? She's supposed to go with me! Wait… where did that come from? I have Harshini… I should be happy about that! Why am I so concerned about who Kripa is going with?' Prithvi thought. Kripa saw the conflicting emotions playing across his face. She saw anger, concern, mischief, and… jealousy? She smiled to herself. Maybe her and Angad's plan was working after all. Well, it was working to her benefit, anyway.

'But do you really see Prithvi that way any more?' she heard an annoying voice ask. Kripa frowned. She usually ignored these thoughts, but she felt she had to defend herself against… well, herself. Of course she still liked Prithvi. Didn't she? 'Or maybe you're just afraid. You're afraid of what you're starting to feel towards Angad.' The voice said again. Kripa vigorously shook her head. Preposterous. She couldn't possibly like Angad, could she?

Next Day

Josh entered the canteen the next morning, fuming. He marched straight over to Kripa, intending to give her a peace of his mind. Kripa noticed him storm in and prepared herself for the worst. He did not look happy.

"Good morning, Josh, sleep well?" she asked innocently. He glared at her.

"Kripa! How could you put me through that! It was… shudder horrible! I actually had to eat… one thing at a time!" he exclaimed, scandalized. Kripa suppressed a laugh and looked at her friend, a serious expression on her face.

"It will come in handy later in life!" she assured him. He glared at her again, but didn't respond. Prithvi was concealing his laughter behind his hand and quickly stopped after Josh's fiery gaze rested on him. Josh proceeded to eat, but much more poised, Kripa noticed with satisfaction.

'I knew he would benefit from that etiquette lesson,' she told herself, smiling. She had been planning this for a while, but she had to wait until he wasn't angry with her in order to put the plan into action.

The staff was supposed to officially announce the Halloween Social tonight, and Kripa was beyond excited. It was rather unlike her to be excited over something such as this, but she found she couldn't wait until October 31. It was to be a costume ball, and Kripa planned on buying one next weekend.

"Good morning, dearest," she heard a cheery voice say behind her. Kripa turned and looked at Angad strangely. Since when did he sound… cheery?

"What do you want, Angad?" she snapped. He looked at her and expression of mock hurt on his face.

"Why, Kripa, are you angry with me?" he asked her, pretending not to know what was wrong. She glared at him. She stood in front of him, her hands on her hips. She drew herself up to her full height (which was still about half a foot shorter than Angad).

"Angad Khanna! How dare you ask me that! You know very well that I'm angry with you!" she snarled, her eyes flashing. He grabbed her elbow and started pulling her out of the canteen. "What are you doing? Let go of me!" she protested. He rolled his eyes and ignored her protests. He stopped right outside the doors.

"What is going on with you? Do you want them to think that we've 'broken up'?" he asked angrily. Kripa glared viciously at him.

"We were never 'together' in the first place. I think we should end this whole stupid charade," she snapped back. Angad groaned.

"Not this again! I told you! It's working. If we go to the Halloween Social together, it will seal the deal!" he exclaimed. Kripa shook her head.

"I can't go to the Halloween Social with you."

"Why not?" he asked. Kripa shrugged.

"I'm going with Josh," she told him. Kripa felt the fury radiating off of him.

"You're going with JOSH!" he yelled. Kripa smirked.

"Yes, he's my best friend. I can go to a Halloween Social with him if I want to."

"You're ruining everything!" he exclaimed. Kripa shrugged again.

"I told you! I don't care anymore… I refuse to work with such a… a… pompous idiot! If I want Prithvi back, I'll get him my own way! I no longer require your assistance!"

"You do need me. You'll see… you'll come back."

"Well, we'll just have to see about that, won't we?" she said, and spun around entering the canteen once more. Angad sighed deeply.

'Good job, Angad. Now you've lost her.'
