Part 60 – Fallen in love all over again

After the horrible restriction from the doctor of no more dancing as it could affect the baby, Isha stopped and wondered if she really was ready for one? She herself was like a child in many ways. So how on earth was she going to take care of a child? Isha looked out of the car window, worried. After being married for only a short time with Isha, Eklavya could still read her mind.

 

E: Don't worry, Isha! I'm there for you, na? We'll both raise a beautiful daughter!

I: Yeah but I'm still – Wait what?

E: I said that I'm always going to be there for you.

I: No, no. The other part; beautiful daughter? No, no, Eklavya! It's going to be a boy!

E: (Laughs) No, Isha, it's going to be a girl!

I: Boy!

E: Girl!

I: Boy, Eklavya!

E: Girl!

I: Why do you want a girl?

E: Because I want another replica of you!

 

             Isha stared at him. This is why it was so hard to win fights with Eklavya. He could make the slightest things sound so sweet. She decided to stop the great debate right now but she was sure it was going to be a boy. Just like Eklavya. As they got out of the car, Isha remembered how awkward it had been in the doctor's office when they had confirmed that indeed Isha was a mother-to-be. She was only a few weeks but Isha could already feel a difference in her eating patterns and even the way she thought. Now everything revolved around the baby. Everyone that talked to her, talked to her about what to eat, what not to eat, what you crave when you're expecting a boy, what you crave when you're expecting a girl, how many different types of yoga positions were best for her, how the delivery would be, what programs she should be in and so on. After only stepping into the house a few seconds ago, Damini, Nisha and Tulsi rushed to her.

 

D: (franticly) Doctor ne kya kaha? Sab theek hai na?

E: Haan, maa. Everything is normal. He told her no more dancing and no more moving around too much.

N: Here, this is a yoga class that I signed you up for. If you don't want to go alone, I can come with you.

T: Beta, this is something that all pregnant women should eat twice a day. If you have acidity problems or too much vomiting, than this will make sure your baby stays healthy.

N: Yes, and I even saw some great nurseries and I think we should go with –

I: (Overwhelmed by everyone) I'm only a month and a pregnant and the doctor says everything is normal. Nisha, sure I'll go but you have to come with me. And Tulsi dadi, I already ate that twice. Maa gave it to me once in the morning before we were leaving for the doctor's and Daksha chachi gave it to me at breakfast.

E: Ok, I think you need some rest. Come on, let's go up stairs.

D: If you need anything, just call us –

N: And we'll come right away.

 

             Isha smiled. Everyone took such great care of her. Even if she felt that she wasn't ready for a child at times, she knew how much everyone was anticipating for this baby. As Eklavya carefully took her to their room, she studied him carefully. He was so flamboyant. It was as if he had fallen in love all over again with their coming baby. Eklavya opened the door to their bedroom and Isha gasped in shock.
