Chapter 58

Part 59 - …couldn't stop grinning …

Recap: It couldn't be true! How could it be true? So quickly? And how was she going to tell Eklavya about this? She decided to call Nisha up and ask her. But how was Nisha going to react to all this? How could she just call up her sister and tell her news like this? Suddenly Eklavya walked into their room.

 

I: Eklavya…?

E: Yeah, Isha?

I: Umm…Can you – (Gulps) sit down. I have to tell you something…

E: Ok.

             Eklavya sat down on their bed. Isha walked up towards him and walked back away. She turned around trying to form words but none came out. She tried to speak but suddenly her mouth was very dry. She turned back to him and looked at him square in the eye, then shut them. She opened her eyes but she didn't know how to deliver such huge news. After all, she didn't have a family of her own before this so she had never faced such a challenge. Suddenly an idea struck her. She took a deep breath and went to the washroom.

             Eklavya was going worried for his wife. What was wrong with her? Why on earth was she acting so strangely? Isha came back from the washroom holding something. She gave it to Eklavya with trembling hands.

I: Look at it.

E: Isha, what's wrong? Are you ok?

I: (Nods)

             Eklavya looked at the thing he was holding and yelled out in joy.

E: ISHA! Are you serious?! Maaa! Dadi!!!

I: Eklavya-

E: Isha! I can't believe you were so nervous about this!

             Damini, Tulsi dadi and everyone else appeared at their doorway. Eklavya ran up to them and kissed his maa and Tulsi dadi and then his baa. He took Damini's hand and twirled her around. Isha grinned at this. Somebody was really happy.

D: Arre! Eklavya!

T: Kya hua?

E: I'm going to be a DAD!!

             Everyone was quiet for a split second as they absorbed this news. Damini went and came back with sweets. Everyone was so happy. Isha couldn't believe it. She had vomited a few times and at time she also felt like she didn't want to eat at all. When she asked the pharmacists they smiled and told her to take the pregnancy test. She told them that she had just gotten married and she didn't think she could get pregnant so soon. But that had been right. She was pregnant. After everyone had done congratulating them, Nisha came in and smiled at Isha. Isha looked at her sister with tearful eyes, ran towards her and hugged her.

I: Di, I'm going to be a mom! Can you imagine? Me?

N: I'm so happy, Isha! You have no idea how happy I am! I was so stunned at first!

I: So was I! I couldn't believe it! Me? Pregnant?

N: (Wipes away her tears and hugs her sister one more time) Ok, now you'll have to eat more, ok? I'll go and buy all the pregnancy magazines right away. And also, now you have to take double the -

I: Di!

N: Ok, fine! I think you're husband wants you to himself so I'm going to go! Take care. But I'll be back in the afternoon, ok?

             As she left, Eklavya close the door and pulled Isha towards him and placed his hand on Isha's tummy. Both of them couldn't help grinning.

                             I actually stopped watching Kyunki... now so I dunno how bad Eklavya is. He was one of my favourite characters in the beginning and after he turned all evil and after KT's rape and all those accusations, I just stopped watching it entirely...But I can imagine how strange it must be to think of Eklavya as nice after you've seen him so mean in Kyunki...
